You can create kanji art for various occasions, such as your favorite words, your child's naming book, birthdays, anniversaries, wedding messages, etc. In this experience, instead of learning the stroke order and strokes, you will relax, enrich your imagination, and stimulate your brain to create your own unique "kanji" art work. First, imagine the kanji you want to write and the scenery (picture) that inspires you. If you can't decide on an idea, creative calligrapher Koji Takano will support you. Once you have decided on an idea, use ink and paint to practice color flow and composition. Finally, write it down on a colored paper or fan for the actual performance, and your own art book will be completed. Learn how to greet, walk, and behave from the head of the Shinkawa School of Japanese dance. Shinkawa School has a wide variety of dances, from classical Japanese dance to Kabuki dance and Bon Odori. Head of the school, Shinkawa Ogio, will provide careful instruction so that everyone from children and students to the elderly can enjoy the dance. Yukata rentals are available, so please change into one first. We will teach you how to tie an obi and how to wear a beautiful yukata. If you come to the store wearing Japanese clothing, you can participate in the class in your favorite clothes. We also have yukatas for men and children, so families are welcome to participate! We will practice the ancient Japanese popular song "Sakura Sakura" in the Shinkawa style. After practice, all participants will dance through the whole dance at the end. You can actually use a Japanese sword, which is said to be the soul of the samurai, and try cutting it. The experience of touching the soul of the samurai will surely transform you. Tennen Rishin-ryu swordsmanship, which began in the Edo period, is still passed down today, and at the Tennen Rishin-ryu Hino Dojo, students of the school hone their swordsmanship skills. You too can learn Tennen Rishin-ryu at an actual dojo. The swordsmen who trained Tennen Rishin-ryu in Hino formed the Shinsengumi, which was said to be the strongest group of swordsmen at the end of the Edo period, and were called the last samurai. By experiencing swordsmanship in Hino, the hometown of the Shinsengumi, you can feel the history and culture of the last samurai. The experience program is led by Masao Inoue, a descendant of Shinsengumi leader Genzaburo Inoue and chairman of the Tennen Rishin-ryu Hino Dojo.

The instructor, who is a nationally certified guide-interpreter, will guide you through the Tsukiji Outer Market and buy fresh fish (tuna, salmon, sea bream, yellowtail) and wasabi. After that, you will travel by subway to the instructor's home (a tower apartment directly connected to Higashi-Ikebukuro Station). At the instructor's home, you will learn how to make sushi rice, how to cut tuna, how to grate wasabi, and how to make three types of sushi (nigiri, rolled, and gunkan), and you will actually make them. After that, you will eat the sushi you made with miso soup made by the instructor. You will receive a gift of the instructor's recipe and an easy-to-make kit used to make rolled sushi. ~Experience flow~ ① Stroll around Tsukiji (about 1 hour) The instructor will explain Japanese ingredients, etc. to you. If there is something you want to buy, the instructor will take you to the store. ② Travel to the instructor's home (about 40 minutes) by subway. Located in Jimbocho, the town of second-hand books, this calligraphy class is supported by leading instructors who will help you have a memorable experience of Japanese culture, calligraphy. We will assign kanji to your name and prepare a sample in advance. First, while grinding the ink, the instructor will explain the calligraphy tools, how to sit, how to hold and use the brush, etc. You will be carefully taught how to write the kanji for your name, your favorite characters, or the words you want to write, and at the end, you will finish it into a colored paper or fan to take home as a souvenir.
