The "Washi Candle Lamp Course" is based on a glass candle holder, pasted with colorfully dyed ultra-thin Japanese paper, and cut out your favorite pattern with a wide variety of cutout punches! Anyone can easily do it. A nice Japanese paper lamp is completed. It's not just a candle, but a very soft light that wraps around the space because it passes through Japanese paper. Since it is a candle type that does not require a cord, it can be easily placed anywhere. You can use it as soon as you take it home, so it will be your favorite healing item from that day (^ _-)-☆ You can use it for yourself or as a gift. Great for Christmas and other home parties! I want to experience something unique to Kyoto! If you think that, please feel free to challenge. You can make your own light (table stand lighting) using Japanese paper. of course! We will explain it carefully, so anyone can feel free to join us, including families, couples, and women. The moment when the completed Japanese paper light lights up is a truly moving experience! Chotoku-ji Temple is the birthplace of Yamada Sohen, the founder of the Sohen School of Tea Ceremony in the early Edo period. Located west of the Imperial Palace in a quiet residential area, Chotoku-ji Temple, a Shinshu Otani school temple, offers a tranquil moment savored with all five senses. As a monk, Yamada Sohen cultivated Buddhist spirituality and aesthetic sensibilities early on at his birthplace, Chotoku-ji Temple. Later, he pursued the world of tea ceremony, embracing the spirit of Rikyu while pursuing a more introspective and spiritually charged "wabicha" style. This unconventional approach, focused on capturing the atmosphere and the spirit of the guest, remains a hallmark of the Sohen School. Experience the Muromachi culture of tea and incense arts at Chotoku-ji Temple. After the experience, enjoy a short moment of sutra copying or zazen meditation followed by a sermon from the head priest, allowing you to experience two hours of extraordinary relaxation in a tranquil setting.

Participate in tea contests, where participants listen to (taste) and distinguish the names of famous teas from the past, and horse-racing incense races, where participants listen to (smell) and compare aromas. If they match, they'll move their horses forward like in a game of backgammon. Experience a digest of old games using tea and incense used by the nobility, along with the spirit and etiquette that resides in them, and after a 150-minute experience of diving into Muromachi culture, you will experience an extraordinary experience in a tranquil space, where you will be able to harmonize both your body and mind with a short time of copying sutras or Zen meditation and a sermon by the head priest.
