This is a course where you can experience "Modern Kintsugi" at a long-established lacquerware store. In this course, unlike full-fledged kintsugi, which uses real lacquer, substitute lacquer is used to restore the pottery. It is resistant to rashes and dries quickly, so you can take your work home with you on the same day. In addition, in this course, you can prepare a vessel for restoration, so you can easily experience Kintsugi empty-handed. Of course, you can also bring the vessel you want to do kintsugi. The shop is located in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, where many long-established traditional craft shops gather. During the Edo period, it prospered as a base for commerce and logistics, and even now you can feel the atmosphere of Edo culture everywhere. In this plan, you will experience the experience at NOIR CAFÉ, an atelier surrounded by plants by Miki Takeuchi, an instructor of Sanshin Oeda School of Kodo and a flower designer. Many people who ask about the art of incense talk about the ancient incense group called ``Genji incense''. Regardless of the school, ``Genjiko'' is a group of incense that is still practiced today. The designs of the answers (listening names) based on the 54 pages of The Tale of Genji are famous as ``Genji Konozu'', which are various traditional Japanese patterns such as maki-e and kimonos. In this experience, you can experience what Genji incense is like at the incense meeting, and how to listen to the scent and come up with an answer. It's hard to sit up straight, and incense parties are difficult to get into. However, this is a plan that allows those who are interested in what Genji incense is like to fully experience it. After enjoying the Genji incense, you can create your own scent just like the aristocrats of the Heian period, when The Tale of Genji was written. The Tale of Genji also depicts scent as a theme, and aristocrats used to infuse their kimonos with elaborate original scents. In this plan, you will create a scented bag by blending your own original natural fragrance. The finished scented bag can be set in a special paulownia wood box designed and arranged by top designer Miki Takeuchi with dried flowers related to the Tale of Genji, and you can take it home as a special incense burner. After the experience, we will offer scones made with the cafe's special incense ingredients and medicinal tea blended with edible flowers and herbal cordial. Please spend an elegant time in an extraordinary time warp for both mind and body.

Neriko is a black pill-shaped incense that was widely used during the Heian period. In The Tale of Genji, there is a scene in which Hikaru Genji, Murasaki no Ue, and other characters are actually created and evaluated, and it is still known as one of the Six Kinds of Kaorumono. It is also used in front of the charcoal in winter during tea ceremonies. Nerika is not something to be used at room temperature, but rather to be warmed to enjoy its aroma. We placed lit charcoal in an incense burner filled with ashes, placed incense sticks on top of the warmed ashes, and enjoyed the scent that wafted through the air. Enjoy the relaxing time and space as the charcoal warms the ashes, along with the scent. It is also recommended before welcoming guests. We have boxes and bags for you to take home, as well as charcoal and incense burner ash for you to use at home.

Create your own original incense paste using only natural incense ingredients such as powdered sandalwood, dragon brain, and clove! Zuko is a powdered incense that monks apply on their palms as a purifying scent in Buddhism. Among the Japanese scents that are used by transferring the scent to something, it is the only one that can be applied directly to the body. In ancient times, people used to collect the first morning dew that had accumulated on lotus leaves, mix sandalwood with the water, and apply it to their bodies. Unlike liquid scents, it is a powder type, so it has low volatility and does not easily diffuse into the surrounding area, making it a convenient scent that can be used without being noticed by those around you. Recommended for relaxing between work. Also, since you only need to use a small amount and don't apply too much, this item is perfect for those who can't get a strong scent in a place where there are people, but still want to add something. *Some sects, such as Zen Buddhism, do not use incense.

"Kobo Seikan" has a workshop, shop, and cafe, and you can enjoy a tour of the Yamanaka lacquerware production site, experience turning the wood, and enjoy shopping, lacquerware, and cafes and sweets. In this course, we will visit the studio (I will explain) ~ Making a vase ~ Lacquerware experience at a cafe (with a drink) Here, the lacquerware craftsmen are working every day. In this experience, you can observe it up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will give you easy-to-understand instructions. Next, you will make your own original flower vase using the wood turning wheel and plane that the craftsmen actually use. You can experience full-fledged wood sawing through making single flower vase. Most of the shapes are carved by yourself, so it's a little bit difficult, but it's fun! ! ! A friendly wood craftsman will teach you carefully, so you can make it yourself until the final completion. You will be satisfied. It is fun. After that, you can enjoy drinks made with lacquerware and sweets at the cafe. Please relax and enjoy the lacquerware experience. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the staff or craftsmen. Even small children can participate as long as they can hold a planer firmly. * The information and photos posted may not be the latest information. Please be sure to check in advance before using.
