It has roots that the first generation was a pottery specializing in ceramics, and even now, we are doing everything from creating the ceramics to painting. This program is a studio tour in which Ms. Ikika Asakura, the daughter of Mr. Isokichi Asakura, the fourth generation, explains the studio, gallery, and works. Kintsugi is a repair technique in which cracks, chips, and other damaged parts of ceramics are glued together with lacquer and decorated with gold and other metal powder. It is also called Kintsukuroi. At our salon, we use simple lacquer instead of real lacquer, and we finish at a reasonable price. Tableware that holds a special meaning can be revived by Kintsugi, and upgraded by applying gold. We accept lessons and orders.
