Smelt fishing that feels like a fishing pond near Ishikari Bay New Port, which is close to Sapporo city. The Hyoto Ice Museum Festival, one of Hokkaido's three major winter festivals, is held from late January to mid-February. As the lake water is highly transparent, the ice sculptures shine blue like Lake Shikotsu during the day, and at night, the lake is lit up and fireworks are set off, making it a sight to behold.
