Down the meandering Kushiro River to Sugawara. This is a course where you can feel the beginning of the marsh (uppermost part). Yezo deer, kingfishers, and red-crowned cranes may come to greet you.

Sometimes Ezoshima and Red crown may show us your face. Come and join us! The area around Toroji is a natural rich area even in Kushiro Marsh. The Salvo Observatory, about 1 km from Toroji Station, has panoramic view of Lake Toruji and other lakes and squares, and at the entrance of Kotaro Marsh, there is a Nihonmatsu Observation Area where you can see the Kushiro River and Kushiro Wetland and the Kushiro city area. In addition, there are plenty of places of interest such as Kotaro Marshland Observation Deck. Why do not you take a short walk on foot or by bicycle by all means. Anyway, it is best to look slowly and feel the five senses slowly as time permits.
