Madarao and Mt. Myoko, surrounded by an endless white winter landscape.Why not take a break from skiing and explore the serene winter wilderness just minutes away from the resort?

Tour Schedule

8:30 AM / 12:30 PM – Meet-upMeet near the ski resort. After a brief introduction and safety briefing, travel by vehicle to the snowshoe trailhead.9:00 AM / 1:00 PM – Snowshoe Trek BeginsLearn how to use snowshoes and poles, then start an easy-paced walk. Observe winter plants, animal tracks, and enjoy the snowy scenery. A short tea break may be taken.11:30 AM / 3:30 PM – Tour EndsReturn by vehicle to the meeting point. Estimated drop-off is around 12:00 PM or 4:00 PM.

Easy and Fun for Everyone

Snowshoeing is easy and requires no special skills or experience, unlike skiing or snowboarding. Even first-time snowshoers can walk through soft, fluffy snow and enjoy the sensation of floating across the winter landscape. Leaving footprints in fresh snow brings a strong sense of freedom. Walking in deep powder can be tiring, but we move at a relaxed pace and take turns leading, making the experience comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.

No Car Needed & Free Gear Rental

You don't need a car to join this tour. The meeting and drop-off point is located near the ski resort, and free transportation to the trailhead is available. Depending on the guide's schedule, pickup from JR Iiyama Station may also be possible.Free pickup is available for up to 3 guests.Snowshoes are provided free of charge. All you need is warm clothing, a backpack, and your personal items. Additional winter gear such as jackets or boots can be rented near JR Iiyama Station.

Selling points regarding safety

For each event, we assume that beginners will be participating, and safety is our top priority, depending on the weather, water levels, and other weather conditions, as well as course conditions. The fields in which the event will be held are mainly satoyama and low mountains in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, which are friendly to outdoor beginners, and are only located close to roads, making it possible to quickly evacuate in the event of an emergency. All of our staff are certified guides by the Japan Mountain Guide Association and are qualified in field first aid after completing the international curriculum of WMA (a field first aid provider that has ratified the North American field first aid guidelines).

Insurance information All guides carry customer liability insurance. However, the warranty does not cover accidents caused by the customer's own fault. As a precaution, we recommend that you take out leisure insurance or mountain insurance for yourself. Please note that according to the Insurance Act, only the policy holder can apply for these insurances, so please take the steps to apply and pay by yourself.
