[Hiroshima/Miyajima] Eco-tour to consider marine debris (trash collection & upcycled product making experience)

Why not take action to protect Miyajima's beautiful natural environment? On this tour, you'll board a small boat and pick up plastic waste off the coast of Miyajima. Afterward, you'll learn about the problem of plastic waste and Miyajima's natural environment, then create upcycled products using plastic waste. Take a step toward a sustainable future on Miyajima. [Recommended for] ・Those interested in the SDGs ・Those who want to see the hidden side of Miyajima ・Those who enjoy crafting [Caution!] ・Depending on weather and other conditions, trash collection may change to the beach instead of the ocean. ・If you are prone to seasickness, please take motion sickness medication beforehand. ・There will be an odor when the plastic is dissolved. Those with chemical sensitivities are not recommended.

The coast of Miyajima is supposed to be beautiful, but on the other side of the island, where few tourists visit, there is a lot of garbage that has washed up from the city.Participants will travel around the coast of Miyajima in a small boat and collect floating marine garbage with a net.

Participants will receive a lecture on marine plastic waste, learn about recycling and upcycling methods, and actually create small upcycled products using waste plastic with their own hands.

People from all over Japan (and sometimes overseas) participate in the tour. It is not a one-sided lecture, but rather an opportunity for participants to exchange opinions with each other. We hope that everyone will be able to connect with each other and ask questions such as, "How can we reduce marine litter?", "What is the situation in my area?" and "What can I do?"
