★Coming to ACTIVITY JAPAN in 2025★ Utoro Base, a secret base nestled on the banks of the mangroves on Amami Oshima, is a small-group tour guided by a local guide who was born and raised here. This tour is limited to one day per day. From Utoro Base, the mangroves and the Hikage Hego Forest are within walking distance. Let's set off on an adventure from our secret base! [Tour Schedule Example] *This is an example for a 9:00 AM start. The itinerary may vary depending on tides and other factors. 9:00 AM Meet at the Mangrove Park parking lot. 9:05 AM Travel to Utoro Base by car (led by a guide). *We'll make a detour to a spot with a panoramic view of the mangrove forest, where you'll get out of the car for a lookout and a briefing before heading to Utoro Base! 9:15 AM Check-in and tour explanation at Utoro Base. 9:30 AM ★Go trekking through Utoro Hikage Hego Forest! A treasure trove of lush Hikage Hego and ferns. You can hear the murmuring of the mountain stream and see the wildlife that changes with the seasons up close. Feel free to lie down on the ground and experience the sensation of being "buried" in the sounds of the babbling brook and the birdsong. (Approximately 30-40 minutes) 10:10 Return to Utoro Base. Use the restroom, etc. 10:20 Put on your life jacket and practice kayaking. 10:30 ★ Depart for a mangrove cruise from the designated departure and arrival point! Mangrove kayaking departs from the designated dock at Utoro Base. After a graceful cruise down the large river flowing through the mangroves, you'll venture into the narrow, intricate waterways and head deeper into the mangroves. Lie down on the ground and experience the sensation of being "buried" in the sounds of the stream and birdsong.♪ ★Adventure into the hinterland! "Mangrove Kayaking" - Mangrove kayaking departs from Utoro Base's dedicated dock. After a graceful cruise down the large river flowing through the mangroves, you'll venture into the narrow, intricate waterways and head deeper into the mangroves. Even first-timers will receive thorough instruction, so you can participate with confidence. ★Secret Base "Utoro Base" - Our base for farming on the banks of the mangroves. Be sure to check out our handmade Goemon bath (not available for use).♪ (Please note that running water and toilets are available, so you can participate with peace of mind. You can also change clothes after the tour!

★Small group tours are limited to once a day, so you can enjoy a relaxed and leisurely experience. Small group tours with 1 to a maximum of 10 people. ★No car travel after the tour begins Utoro Base is within walking distance of both the mangroves and the Hikage Hego Forest. You can enjoy a leisurely trip without traveling by car. ★Tour times are timed to coincide with high tide to reach the deepest part of the mangroves.
