You can experience the "Chanoyu" tea ceremony, a comprehensive art form of Japanese culture, in a traditional Kyoto townhouse, where a teacher will prepare the tea and you can also make the tea yourself. For this plan, you will come to Yumeyakata Gojo store, change into your kimono, and then move to the venue for the tea ceremony experience, Yumeyakata Oike Bettei, by yourself. As it takes 1.5 hours to dress and style your hair, if you arrive at 10:00, the tea ceremony experience will be from 12:00 to 13:00. After the tea ceremony experience, you can use the kimono as it is. Please return it to Yumeyakata Gojo store by 17:30.
Suzuki Aya, a full-time instructor at the Urasenke School of Tea Ceremony [Chana Sobun] Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1964. She has been going to Kyoto since her teens to learn Urasenke tea ceremony. Fascinated by the deep spirituality and underlying philosophy of tea ceremony, she has a passionate desire to convey the goodness of tea ceremony to many people and has decided to become an instructor.
