Tokamachi Station West Exit (Departs at 14:30) → Sasayama Ruins (Visit/Experience) → Tokamachi City Museum (Visit) → Tokamachi Station West Exit (End of Jomon Tour) → Have a drink at a bar in the city (Starts around 19:00 for about 1.5 hours)

Tokamachi City in Niigata Prefecture is a town where the ruins where the national treasure flame-shaped pottery was excavated are located.

We will participate in the Jomon Tours operated by the Tokamachi City Tourist Association. We will tour the museum while listening to the curator's commentary, visit the archaeological repository that is usually closed to the public, and enjoy a flame-shaped earthenware pot and Jomon cookies as a snack in a pit dwelling.

Tokamachi City has become a lively town with many restaurants and cafes.

Tokamachi City has long been famous for its kimonos, and many restaurants developed to entertain the merchants who came from all over Japan. Gradually, the palates of Tokamachi residents became more refined, and chefs spared no effort to support the restaurants.
