Plan description

This is snowshoe trekking where you can walk around the heavy snowfields in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture. Nabekura Kogen is close to the surrounding ski areas (Nozawa Onsen, Madarao, Togakushi, and Sakaemura), but the vast snowy fields stretch as far as the eye can see, making it a completely different world. How about taking a break from ski resorts and stretching your legs?

The course is easy half day!

Nabekura Kogen is easily accessible from the parking lot, but once you step inside, it's another world covered in snow. When the weather is good, you can see Mt. Naeba and Mt. Makiki which are 100 famous mountains. You can easily enjoy such a 360-degree view in half a day.

Anyone can enjoy it easily!

Unlike skis and snowboards, snowshoeing requires no special training and can be easily handled by anyone. Even if you are wearing snowshoes for the first time, you can fully enjoy the mysterious feeling of floating while stepping on the fluffy snow. You will be surrounded by a sense of openness as you make your own footprints in the freshly fallen snow. Of course, walking in the fresh snow for a long time requires physical stamina, but if you get tired, you can enjoy it easily by walking in a single line while taking turns leading the way.

The meeting and disbanding locations are within walking distance of the ski resort area so that even those who do not have a car can easily participate in the tour. From the meeting point, you will get into the guide's car and arrive at the field in about 10 minutes one way. Once the hike is over, we will return to the meeting point and disperse. Half-day tours don't require complicated transportation arrangements, so you can flexibly incorporate them into your travel plan if space becomes available! Also, snowshoes and poles can be borrowed for free! You can enjoy it easily as long as you have clothes that allow you to move properly and the things you need to bring.

Selling points regarding safety

For each event, we assume that beginners will be participating, and safety is our top priority, depending on the weather, water levels, and other weather conditions, as well as course conditions. The fields in which the event will be held are mainly satoyama and low mountains in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, which are friendly to outdoor beginners, and are only located close to roads, making it possible to quickly evacuate in the event of an emergency. All of our staff are certified guides by the Japan Mountain Guide Association and are qualified in field first aid after completing the international curriculum of WMA (a field first aid provider that has ratified the North American field first aid guidelines).

Insurance information	All guides carry customer liability insurance. However, the warranty does not cover accidents caused by the customer's own fault. As a precaution, we recommend that you take out leisure insurance or mountain insurance for yourself. Please note that according to the Insurance Act, only the policy holder can apply for these insurances, so please take the steps to apply and pay by yourself.
