Plan description

This snowshoe trekking tour explores the vast snowy fields and beech forests near Togari Onsen Ski Resort. Even if you don't have a car, you can meet up near the ski resort and start the trek. Depending on the guide's schedule, pick-up and drop-off from JR Iiyama Station is also possible! This is a small-group, private tour for a maximum of five people (three adults and two children). As this is a small-group tour, the itinerary can be tailored to suit each individual guest. Even those less confident in their physical strength can enjoy this tour. The heavy snow region of northern Nagano Prefecture is rich in nature, located close to numerous ski resorts. Floating across the fluffy snowy fields on snowshoes will make you feel like you've entered another world. Why not take a break from your ski resort and stretch your legs?

The course is easy half day!

Northern Nagano Prefecture is an area where people have lived in close cooperation with nature. This allows you to quickly access the great outdoors and explore a variety of areas, including snowy rural villages, vast snowy plains, and beech forests, all of which are part of Japan's pristine landscape. On a good day, you can even enjoy a snowshoe hike while taking in the views of the Northern Alps and Niigata mountains. [Tour Schedule] ・8:30 AM (Morning Plan) / 12:30 PM (Afternoon Plan) Meeting. After greetings and a brief explanation, you will travel by vehicle to the tour starting point. ・9:00 AM / 1:00 PM Snowshoe trekking begins. First, you will receive a lesson on how to put on snowshoes and use the poles. Once you've mastered the technique, you'll begin hiking. Observe signs of winter plants and animals, and leisurely walk while playing in the fluffy snow. If time permits, take a tea break and relax in nature. ・11:30 AM / 3:30 PM Tour ends. You will then return to the meeting point by vehicle and disband. The estimated time of dismissal is around 12:00 (morning plan) / 16:00 (afternoon plan).

Anyone can enjoy it easily!

Unlike skis and snowboards, snowshoeing requires no special training and can be easily handled by anyone. Even if you are wearing snowshoes for the first time, you can fully enjoy the mysterious feeling of floating while stepping on the fluffy snow. You will be surrounded by a sense of openness as you make your own footprints in the freshly fallen snow. Of course, walking in the fresh snow for a long time requires physical stamina, but if you get tired, you can enjoy it easily by walking in a single line while taking turns leading the way.

It's okay if you don't have a car! & Free tool rental!

[You can participate even without a car!] The meeting and disbanding points are right near the ski resort. Transportation to the tour location is free, so even those without a car can easily join the tour. We can also arrange transportation from JR Iiyama Station depending on the guide's schedule, so please feel free to contact us! *Due to the guide vehicle's capacity, the free transportation service is limited to three people. For groups of four or more, please bring your own vehicle. [Free equipment rental!] Snowshoes can be rented for free! All you need is comfortable clothing, a backpack, and your personal belongings to enjoy the tour. *Jackets, boots, and other items needed for trekking can be rented at the Shinetsu Shizenkyo Activity Center at JR Iiyama Station.
