Plan description

It is a stimulating caving experience of a full-fledged limestone cave. A limestone cave is also called a stalactite cave, but on this day Himise Cave has almost no scenery of a tourist cave with beautiful stalactites. The main cave of the main street is 70m deep and is a small cave, but it is an intricate ant nest structure extending from the B1 base on the first basement floor to the B4 floor. It is a labyrinthine cave with a total length of over 300m and is one of the most unusual structures in Japan. Complicated. We have set 4 courses depending on physical strength, season, and climbing experience. A mud slide mixed with mudstone, a very narrow branch road, a trap with sword rock that is easy to cut when touched like a machete blade, and a rope descending a drop well 11m directly below from the B1 lobby, underground lake 2m deep in July. In the dry season in winter, the water at the bottom is drained and you can enter the beautiful marble layer route of B4. From Tokushima Expressway Tokushima IC or via Komatsushima City, turn left across the Naka River and Kuwano River on Prefectural Road 55 (Anan Road) toward Anan.

If you arrive by train

Get off at JR Awa Muroto Seaside Line Anan Station 2.5km (12 minutes by car, 30 minutes on foot) There is a transfer to Anan Station.
