At a secret spot in Kabira Bay, this is a tour where you can immerse yourself in the magical world of magic hour after sunset, the sky full of stars, and magical noctilucent insects. If the weather is good and the moon is not out, you can see the superb view of the Milky Way spreading in the sky while lying on a SUP. In the summertime, you can enjoy a natural time surrounded only by the sounds of nature, as you lie down and gaze at the sky full of stars, while the noctilucent insects twinkle like magic every time you row the oars.

Starry sky and night insects

Ishigaki Island is home to the first area in Japan to be certified as a "starry sky conservation area," and is one of the world's top spots for astronomical viewing. The attraction is being able to see the Milky Way and various constellations depending on the season. The best time to see the Milky Way is in the summer, from June to August. Noctiluca is a type of phytoplankton, and although it is called an insect, you can't see it, so don't worry. As the name suggests, noctiluca emit a fantastical pale blue light when stimulated at night. They can be seen all year round, but the best time to see them is from early summer to autumn.

To avoid disappointment

The main focus of this plan is to enjoy the starry sky and bioluminescent plankton, so you won't paddle the SUP very far. Once you've reached the viewing point (shallow water), you can drop the anchor and lie back on the SUP to enjoy the starry sky. Due to the nature of the plan, the weather can have a big impact, and we often decide to cancel the trip on the day. We try to make early decisions and contact you so that you don't waste your precious time on your trip and think, "I came all the way to the site, but..." If the trip is canceled, all payments will be refunded.
