Description of plan

★ COOL HIROSHIMA ★
Tenkoku is an art of making seals by engraving personal names in one or two letters on the surface of stones, a writing style which has been practiced for thousand years.​ ​​ ​​ ​
It can be a piece of art which combines writing and carving techniques and besides, it can serve you as the most sophisticated personal signature.
Experience traditional culture of Japan, where the economy may not be maintained without personal stamps.​ ​
An instructor will choose a print image which is better suited for your name, and as soon as that design is carved on the seal, your original stamp will be ready.​ ​​ ​
We will put your finished stamp in a special bag with traditional patterns for you.​ ​
※English speaking guide is available.

Instructor is a「Master on Craftsmanship」specialized in seal making

The lesson is conducted by 4 seal specialists, only holders of the national qualification of「Certified Master on Craftsmanship 」in Hiroshima.

The venue is located conveniently in central Hiroshima, so you may join the experience at any time during your trip.​ ​​ ​

Plan Steps(Approximately 120 min.)

① Assemble
②Choose print
※You can use your name or favorite words for the print.
③Design your letter and write it on the tracing paper.
④Paste a tracing paper on the seal and insert it between special device and transfer the letter onto the seal.
⑤Remove a tracing paper and start carving a letter.​ ​
⑥During a carving process, press your seal in order to check if it is properly carved.​ ​
⑦Product is ready.
