This is a plan where you can have a large Shino plate or an Oribe plate. It looks great with assorted sushi or sashimi, or Japanese sweets. It is also recommended for those who are particular about pottery. Modeling Rosanjin's Shino, you can use Shigaraki clay to make a plate of your choice. Roughly 1.5 kg of soil is used to create a large, earthy work. If you wish, we can also make a matcha bowl for you. It is completed by drawing a pattern with makeup clay. Shino glaze (whitish glaze) or Oribe glaze (green glaze) is applied and baked.
Let's make a large plate using the technique of Shino, a pottery born in the Muromachi period. We use white clay from Shigaraki. I use a technique called "string making". It's a steady work, but it's an important work to make a solid plate. Once the shape is completed, painting and patterning are completed. A platter that can be used for guests and celebrations is a dish you want.
Our factory welcomes you with full equipment. The working space is spacious and can accommodate up to 70 people. Four full-scale electric kilns can be used to fire various types of ceramics such as Oribe, Shino, celadon, and overglaze porcelain.
Those who have never experienced pottery are also welcome. The instructor will carefully advise you. The instructors, including the director Sato, who is active as a professional, have solid skills. Please rest assured.
