The Uchiumi School of Japanese Contemporary Dance was founded in 1955 and has been in existence for over 70 years. Based in Tokyo, we are active throughout Japan. We promote dance based on traditional Japanese dance that meets the needs of the modern age. Currently, it is carried on by the second head of the school, Hidekazu Uchiumi, and his deputy head, Hidehiro Uchiumi.
You can experience Japanese dance from Shinjuku by taking the Odakyu Line express train for 16 minutes or walking for 1 minute.
