The Tenryu River wasen kudari is a traditional Japanese boat that does not use an engine and is rowed down by the boatman. Among the courses that are full of variety, with rapids and toro, the valley of the prefectural park Garyu Gorge, including the hot water stream, is full of splashes and splashes of water. Before boarding, the boatman will guide you through the Japanese-style boat experience (history of tsusen, shipbuilding, and ship-handling techniques).
Without using the engine, the boatman's skillful oars are used to go down the rapids.
In the gorge of the Garyu Gorge Prefectural Park and in the rapids, you will be asked to raise a plastic sheet to remove splashes.
The shipbuilding technology of wasen, which does not have blueprints, has been handed down from master to apprentice to the present day. Approximately 800 boat nails forged by blacksmiths are used to complete the ship by joining the trees together. You can experience traditional shipbuilding techniques such as a demonstration of hammering ship nails with a unique rhythm.
