You can experience over a period of 1 day a series of steps until it is sword in Asano blacksmith. Touch the work of the Japanese tradition, let's spend a poignant time.
This was an excellent hands on experience making a small knife. Taro was very helpful in guiding us through the process and spoke excellent English.
Definitely recommend taking the time to do the workshop.
I came with my friends and its was a very nice moment. The sword master had a good english. Its was easy to understand how craft the knife with there descriptions.

私は趣味でナイフメイキングを嗜んでいますが、技術はすべて独学のため、いつか日本が誇る刀鍛冶の方の技術を間近で見たいor体験したいと考えていました。
少し長い休みが取れたので思い切ってこちらのアクティビティを申し込みましたが、期待以上の体験が出来ました。
私には多少 刃物作りの経験があった為、相談させていただいて通常より大振りなナイフの制作となり、工程やコツなどを教えていただきながら鍛造していきました。
真っ赤な鋼を叩いて少しづつ形を作っていくのはまさに自分が憧れていた鍛治そのものであり、とても楽しい体験となりました。
刀鍛冶さんといえば寡黙で厳しいイメージがありましたが、浅野さんのとても気さくで軽快なトークは体験をより上質な時間にしてくれました。
私は例外的にハンドル(柄)を自作する事として、ブレードのみ持ち帰りました。
終わり際に「完成したら是非見せて」とお声がけいただきました、必ず仕上げようと思います。

The sword has many meanings. I want to face all the swords seriously. I think the most important thing is the concept. Every sword I build may look the same. However, much information is contained in materials, processes, or forms. Based on your story, we will create a concept, purpose, figure, etc. It should be very simple. I draw inspiration from there and create new concepts. After that, all knowledge, skills and experiences are infused. I need a very strong concentration and motivation. Sometimes for several months and when all the work is over, I will reach into your hand as the only sword.
