Located in Japan's largest peninsula, the Kii Peninsula, Wakayama Prefecture is located in Koyasan, where Kobo Daishi Kukai opened, Kihoku, where Wakayama Castle is located, Kinan, where Yuasa and Ume no Sato are the birthplace of soy sauce, and Kumano Kodo.
