It takes about 40 minutes from Okinawa Naha to Yoron Airport. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Kagoshima to Yoron Airport. It's easy and fast, but the price is cheaper if you take a ferry. Takes 20 hours though! It's about 4 hours from Okinawa, so I'm thinking of going with this. However, if you have to stay the night before because the number of flights per day is small, or if you have trouble moving to the ferry terminal, the plane is recommended.
