(For elementary school students, cypress wood is recommended, but Yamazakura wood is hard, so in most cases it cannot be shaved at all. You can also choose different experiences for each group! ⚫︎Pen making and polishing experience (time required: about 60 minutes) Use a woodworking lathe to polish the shaft of a wooden pen with sandpaper. Each time you polish it, the wood surface becomes smoother and you can create your own original pen while enjoying the changes in the beauty of the wood grain. ⚫︎Pen making and carving experience (time required: about 120 to 180 minutes) Use a woodworking lathe to carve the shaft of a wooden pen with a bit (blade) into your favorite shape. Make a completely original pen while enjoying the beauty of the wood grain. ⚫︎Keychain polishing experience (time required: about 40 minutes) Use a woodworking lathe to polish the shaft of a wooden keychain with sandpaper. In this course, we will visit the studio (I will explain) ~ Making a vase ~ Lacquerware experience at a cafe (with a drink) Here, the lacquerware craftsmen are working every day. In this experience, you can observe it up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will give you easy-to-understand instructions. Next, you will make your own original flower vase using the wood turning wheel and plane that the craftsmen actually use. You can experience full-fledged wood sawing through making single flower vase. Most of the shapes are carved by yourself, so it's a little bit difficult, but it's fun! ! ! A friendly wood craftsman will teach you carefully, so you can make it yourself until the final completion. You will be satisfied. It is fun. This is a workshop where you can experience making snowboards using thinned cedar wood. This project contributes to the SDGs by using unneeded thinned wood without waste. Snowboarding is a sport that combines skateboarding without bindings or edges, surfing, and snowboarding. The surface of the board is non-slip, so you can enjoy it easily with boots or snow shoes. What is a snowboard? Snowboards and snowtoys are a unique Japanese culture that was born from the idea of sliding across the snow with a wooden board. This simple toy, which has no edges or soles and is coated with varnish or resin and has a non-slip surface where you place your feet, spread quickly throughout snowy countries, giving birth to creative shapers all over the country and is still spreading rapidly (from the BUDDHABLANK website). Enjoy the winter season with a one-of-a-kind snowboard that you made yourself!
