Karuizawa Summer Queen: A new variety developed by Shinshu University in Nagano Prefecture. It is particularly sweet and rich among summer/autumn strawberries. "Summer Queen" is a registered trademark of Karuizawa Garden Farm, and is a very rare variety with a low yield. This is a summer/autumn strawberry that is red all the way through. <<Pechika Honoka>> This is a premium variety of summer/autumn strawberry that has an especially excellent taste. We obtained special permission and started cultivating it in 2021. The flesh is white, and it has a creamy sweetness like strawberry milk. It is a rare variety that can only be enjoyed at a few strawberry picking locations in Japan. ▼ What are summer/autumn strawberries? ▼ Strawberries that can be harvested from early summer to early December are called summer/autumn strawberries. Since the summer in Japan is generally hot, domestic strawberry production was originally low and rare, but our farm is able to grow strawberries even during the summer by taking advantage of the cool climate that is unique to the plateau. Summer/autumn strawberries are a variety that are characterized by their refreshing sweet and sour taste, but the fresh, ripe strawberries that are unique to strawberry picking are sweet and satisfying even when eaten as is! You can enjoy strawberry picking in an all-weather vinyl greenhouse with the majestic Mt. Asama in front of you. This is a day trip plan to enjoy shopping in Karuizawa by riding the Hokuriku Shinkansen. After receiving your Shinkansen ticket and travel guide from the staff at the meeting place, Tokyo Station, you can start your trip freely. The Hokuriku Shinkansen is comfortable and punctual, so you will arrive at Karuizawa Station in just over an hour. After enjoying shopping and gourmet food, you can board the Shinkansen at your preferred time and arrive at Tokyo Station in just over an hour, so you can enjoy dinner in Tokyo! ~ Flow of the day ~ ① 8:20 Meeting: Near the ticket gate at Yaesu North Exit of Tokyo Station A staff member holding a Japan Burari Trip flag will be waiting for you. You will be given your Shinkansen ticket and guide, and a brief explanation will be given. (Please note that the explanation from the staff at Tokyo Station and the written guide of the plan that you will be given will be in English only.) ② Please board the Hokuriku Shinkansen.
