This bamboo-filled tour allows you to experience the culture of Kyoto bamboo shoots in Oharano, Nishikyo Ward, a famous bamboo shoot production area. A bamboo shoot farmer who manages the bamboo forest will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of the bamboo shoots' ecology and culture. You will also have a full harvesting experience using a rare hoe unique to this area, and you will enjoy dishes made with the fresh bamboo shoots you harvested yourself (four dishes that farmers usually eat will be provided. Drinks such as sake will also be provided). While the bamboo shoots are boiling, you will have the opportunity to make bamboo chopsticks (including matcha and sweets) at Shop & Gallery Chikuseien. During your meal, you will use the bamboo chopsticks you made and the bamboo bowls and cups made by the producers just beforehand, and enjoy the scenery in the bamboo forest. The tour will be guided by a team of producers who cultivate the highest quality bamboo shoots with a spirit of inquiry, and an interpreter guide who is rooted in the area and has a deep understanding of the region.

We are a Nishijin-ori workshop that has been in business for Year in Kinugasa, Kyoto We want young people and people who don't usually wear kimono to know the charm of Nishijin-ori. There are 5 hand-weaving looms on the 2nd floor of Kinugasa Kobo, where you can actually select the thread and weave the fabric. Use your hands, switch the warp threads with your feet, and thread the weft threads. When I can be rhythmic, I'm crazy about it. Even if it seems difficult, please be assured that the second generation Orimoto, who started from inexperienced, will teach you. The woven fabric will be made into a "strap", "coaster", "card case", etc. and will be mailed at a later date. Even movements that look easy can be difficult when you actually try them, or you can sweat, and the work that gives you a personality is very interesting because it makes a difference between your friends. Also, the overwhelming amount of obi and thread that can only be seen here. Please feel the scent and texture of silk thread. Introducing the process of Nishijin weaving and the actual fabric. If you let us know in advance if you would like to hold the event, we can hold it accordingly. Please feel Contact us us. The second generation of Orimoto will attend as much as possible.
