This tour involves using a hammer to break up rotten wood that has been captured in a nearby forest and in your own garden, and searching for adult stag beetles (hibernating) and larvae. Because the number of rotten wood is limited, we are open to individual family tours and requests are accepted depending on the wood we have in stock. The capture time is one hour in your own garden, followed by an explanation and wood splitting, and then searching for rotten wood in a nearby forest (near Fuchu or Chofu). Thank you for your cooperation. PS: Generally, a minimum of five people is required for each tour.

Our second most popular tour, the upstream tour, features spring water, allowing you to encounter beautiful aquatic creatures. This cycling tour takes you through rice fields, spring water, and the upstream area. Please note that this tour is limited to three-seater electric bicycles, so only those who can ride a bicycle are eligible. Targets include mountain crabs, loaches, crayfish, four types of dragonfly nymphs, mitten crabs, Japanese brown sea bream, Japanese minnows, Japanese spiky goby, and carp (only at shallower areas). After meeting at the meeting point, using the restroom and applying insect repellent, we'll begin our cycling journey. Please wear a helmet and drive safely. This tour involves cycling through spring waters. Since the tour focuses on shallow waters, it's safe for even small children. While exploring requires some skill, this tour explores the hidden source of the river. Create summer memories with your family by enjoying the cool spring waters in summer and the constant warmth in winter, while learning about the creatures that live there. The lack of invasive species is another attraction of this tour. Although there are a lot of crayfish living in the area, this tour focuses on native species. We look forward to your application. What to bring: Marine shoes (from the end of March to October), swimsuit, rash guard, spats, drink, hat, backpack, plastic case for carrying the items home + bubble tea (a battery-powered oxygen dispenser). What you need to bring: Electric bicycle, helmet, rubber boots (from November to mid-March), net, storage bucket. PS: Generally, a minimum of 5 people is required for each tour.

We are looking forward to your participation in this river wildlife exploration for parents and children. On the day, please gather at the designated meeting point, rent waders (30 sets available free of charge, from 15cm to 28cm), put on work gloves, and turn over stones to catch fish and crayfish. Please bring your own marine equipment from spring, the end of March, through autumn, and the end of October. During the cold winter and spring waters, the water is stationary, so you can catch them with your bare hands. Targets include turtles, frogs, catfish, mitten crabs, striped shrimp, Japanese swamp shrimp, American crayfish, dung goby, Japanese loach, Japanese pit viper, Japanese rock goby, Japanese river snail, Taiwanese clam, dragonfly nymph, and river insects. Many creatures live under and beneath the stones, so be sure to turn over lots of rocks to see what's underneath. Winter observation sessions are the easiest time to catch them. We look forward to your participation and applications. If you wish to take home any fish, please bring a plastic case and a bubble-bubble (battery-operated; only the fish require oxygen). There are many paid parking spaces available at the meeting point, both inside and around the market. We will meet and depart 10 minutes before the scheduled time. Please note that if you are late due to traffic congestion or other reasons, you will not be able to participate. In this case, we can arrange an afternoon session or reschedule, so please contact us. Thank you for your understanding. Depending on the instructor's schedule, Tosshi, Ryo, or Sora may be present. What to bring: Water shoes, change of clothes, swimsuit, spats, rash guard, drink, rucksack, plastic case for taking fish home, bubble-bubble. What to bring: Rain boots (from November to mid-March), net, and storage bucket. We look forward to your participation. PS: Generally, a minimum of five people is required for each event.
