[Chitose River Cruise] It's about a 20-minute drive from New Chitose Airport, and you'll be surprised to see such rich nature in such a place... The Chitose River makes you think so. [Short course only available in winter] Chitose in winter is below freezing even during the day! It's extremely cold, but there are many beauties that can only be seen in such a harsh environment. The course is a canoe tour of about 2.5 kilometers from under the highway overpass that runs through the town of Chitose to the area near the Chitose City Sports Center! The snowy scenery spreads out on the riverbank with a good view, and wild deer gather along the quiet river, and you can see salmon running upstream, which is becoming a symbol of the Chitose River, until around February! The experience lasts 30 to 40 minutes, and it takes about an hour from meeting to disbanding. *The tour may vary depending on the weather and river conditions on the day. *Most tours are conducted below freezing, so please take proper cold weather precautions. *Safety is our number one priority, so the tour may be canceled due to weather or other reasons. Smelt fishing that feels like a fishing pond near Ishikari Bay New Port, which is close to Sapporo city. If you want to catch smelt, but the ice has not frozen yet, or if the ice has melted, we recommend this option for those who just want to enjoy fishing, or those who just want to catch a fish. The Ishikari Discharge Channel, a shortcut that connects the Ibarato River to Ishikari Bay, is a hidden spot for smelt fishing. The seawall is well maintained and you can enjoy it as if you were at a fishing pond. The location of smelt changes depending on the weather, and if your hunch is right, you may catch up to 40 smelt in an hour. Why not try fishing during the recommended time? Basically, you can take your catch home, but if you really want to try it as tempura, please contact us. On your way home after fishing, please stop by tourist facilities and scenic spots to enjoy a fulfilling day. *Free transportation is available from hotels in the center of Sapporo, such as in front of Sapporo Station.
