The thatched houses in Miyama Town are Kitayama-style houses with a gabled roof on the upper part and a Yodo-style roof on the lower part. Currently, there are about 50 buildings in the village, including about 40 thatched houses (most of which are residential), and in 1993, the village was designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings by the national government. Umeyama Winter Snow Lantern Lighting Event: (Held from January 25th to February 1st) Thatched Mountain Villa Village Light-up Event Approximately 78 snow and flower lanterns, 200 LED lanterns, and 50 lanterns are lit up, illuminating the thatched mountain villas at night. Hot food stalls - These stalls mainly serve barbecued fries and hot soups, including Miyama's specialty venison. Snow Lantern Making Experience "Snow Lantern Gallery" In addition to enjoying the beautiful night view of the mountains, you can also apply to make a snow lantern, and the completed creation will be exhibited at the venue.
