<About the experience> You will create your own original yellow handkerchief using dye from the Fukuki tree, which grows near the coast of the southern island. Fukuki is also known as the "Tree of Happiness." We will provide the handkerchiefs for you. You can also take the finished handkerchief home with you on the day. <Experience perks> After the experience, you can stroll through the elegant Japanese garden, which changes with the seasons, and the Amami-style garden, which recreates the primeval forest of Amami.
初めての草木染体験でしたが、係りの方が丁寧に説明、お手伝いしてもらえたので、難しくなく高齢の両親でも楽しく作ることが出来ました。 出来たものをそのまま持ち帰れるので、帰りには1人ずつ違った柄を見て楽しみました。 施設の植物や日本庭園は手入れが行き届いていて素晴らしかったです。 また、同じ施設内のレストランも利用しましたが、奄美の郷土料理「鶏飯」もとても美味しかったです。 施設入口の受付の方はとても親切で、食事と体験のお手配もしてもらえてとても助かりました。

奄美の里も初めてでしたが組み紐を体験するのも初めてでうまく出来るか心配でしたが教えて下さる先生が分かりやすく、しかも奄美の方言など教えてくださったりと楽しくお話しながらの体験でした。 組み紐体験の後に奄美の里のお庭を散策して、本場の鶏飯もとっても美味しかったです！

初めてで見た目、簡単そうでしたが中腰の体勢が地味に疲れました。 ちょっと油断すると移動させる糸を間違えたりしましたが、係の人が視ていてくれて無事組上がりました。 ブレスレットに仕上がったのを見たら感無量でした。 機械があったらまた挑戦したいです。

スタッフの方は丁寧に説明してくれたが、体験は自分で作業したのは最初の柄付けの輪ゴム止めのみ(ほんの5分程度)、後の工程は全てスタッフの方がやった。体験としては正直なところ期待はずれ。ストールの出来上がりもいまいち。
