Our family had the honor of spending a day with Master Katana Craftsman, Mr. Yoshida. Under his guidance, we delved into the intricate world of sword making, learning patience, precision, and the rich history of Japanese craftsmanship. Our children actively participated in every stage of the process, from forging "Tamahagane" into steel to polishing it into a beautiful blade, creating not just a work of art but also cherished family memories. Our heartfelt thanks for the hospitality and the remarkable experience.

Iron is a human invention. People have walked with iron, as it is said, "Whoever controls iron controls the world." A Japanese sword cannot be made good unless it is made of iron using the traditional ironmaking method. With this plan, you can experience making iron from iron sand using the traditional iron-making method. Repeat the work of cutting charcoal into small pieces and adding iron sand to determine the "steel" part from the finished lump "kera". You can take the finished product home with you. ★We have someone here who can explain things in English, so you don't need an interpreter.

Make an original bracelet. You can choose your favorite materials such as precious stones, wooden balls, glass beads, etc. (*The price changes depending on the size and type of ball.) You can take it home as a Kyoto souvenir on the day. If it is made by your grandfather, grandmother, parents, etc., it will be smoother if you can measure the circumference of your arm. There are many shrines and temples in the area, so it is a convenient area for sightseeing, so please stop by to make a memory of your trip. Thank you.
