The Hija River is a second-class river that runs along the boundary between Kadena Town and Yomitan Village. On the main island of Okinawa, it is the largest river in the basin area. Before the war, it is also a venerable place where Yanbaru ships (Yanbarusen) used to come and go as a distribution base.
