Would you like to make your own original washi notebook? Japanese binding is a traditional Japanese bookbinding technique that uses high-quality Japanese paper and linen thread, and has been passed down since the Heian period (794). In the workshop, we will start with ``Japanese paper dyeing'', which involves adding color to Japanese paper to create the cover of a notebook. ①Make the cover of your notebook by coloring Japanese paper. You can either fold the washi paper and dye it in color, or use a paper pattern to dye it. ② Applying the Japanese binding technique, assemble the inside of the notebook (*) and the cover of the notebook with embroidery thread. The size of the notebook is A6 (105 x 148.5 mm). Your one and only Japanese-bound notebook will be completed. At the end, we will serve Japanese sweets along with "Japanese paper tea" that is not available anywhere else! We hope that you will enjoy the beauty and depth of Japanese paper through this workshop. Sharp tools will be used in the workshop. *The contents of the Japanese paper notebook use existing inkjet Japanese paper. The cover is handmade Japanese paper from our shop.

Learn basic washi ink techniques and washi paper cutting, and create your own original washi art work (one postcard and A5 size washi art). Washi ink is an original design tool. Ink is made by melting colored washi paper. By using that ink, you can make your art colorful. By the way, when was the last time you wrote a letter? Write a letter to your loved ones using the postcard you created! (Stationery will also be provided). While waiting for the paper to dry, relax with the world's one and only original "Japanese paper tea" and local Japanese sweets. Light and durable plastics are essential to our lives, but once they flow into the ocean, they are not easily decomposed. Eventually, it was crushed into pieces of 5 mm or less, and it came to be called microplastic. ★ Microplastic key chain ★ Microplastic is said to enter the human body through fish and the like. And already, if you look closely, you can see that microplastics are mixed in the sand of the sea in Okinawa. In the experience, we will make a key chain using microplastic taken from the sand of the sea in Okinawa.

We have examples in the store, but of course you can bring your own image. You can take the completed work home on the day. In the Zashiki Warashi no Iru Sato workshop, we display and sell works by the owner, who has been making pottery for about 30 years, as well as works by fellow kilns. There are many things that you won't find anywhere else. We have a wood-fired kiln (anagama) in Higashiyama, Nakano City, next to Obuse, and we fire it twice a year (June and December). You can freely visit the kiln while it is firing.
