You can take a peek into the deep world of Oshima Tsumugi. Here, you can experience making your own original T-shirt using the "Amami Bingata" stencils, which are based on the plants and scenery of Amami. It's a special time to hand-dye your own one-of-a-kind shirt while feeling the nature and culture of the island. You can feel free to experience mud dyeing, one of the processes of authentic Amami Oshima Tsumugi. We have T-shirts, shawls, eco bags, and handkerchiefs, so please come empty-handed. If you wish, we can change to the indigo dyeing experience. Please avoid white clothes as much as possible and wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

A casual experience to enjoy the traditions of Amami We offer classes where you can experience the shamisen for anyone interested, from adults to children. OKKY, born and raised on Amami Oshima, will teach you the joys of the Amami shamisen!! This experience is perfect for those who want to start playing the shamisen, those who have free time during a sightseeing trip, or those who want to enjoy it on a rainy day. Please don't think "I can't do it," but please feel free to come. Why not experience the culture of Amami through the shamisen experience? I'm sure it will be a good memory!! It is a rental plan on the day that you can go out at the authentic Amami Oshima Tsumugi. After you come to the store empty-handed and dress at the facility, you can take pictures not only inside the facility but also at various sightseeing spots such as the Amami sea and forest. We rent tripods and selfie sticks, so we can accommodate from one person to a group. Before departure, we will tell you what to look out for when washing your hands, eating, etc., and how to fix your clothes if you lose your clothes. If you return within business hours, you will be asked to change your clothes. It is a plan that you can fully enjoy the extraordinary life in Amami.

A matcha experience where you can enjoy matcha and sweets produced in Kagoshima Prefecture. It is a casual style with seating at a table and chairs, and is recommended for those who want to be able to make matcha at home. The instructor will explain how to make matcha, the types of tools and how to use them, and basic hospitality. After enjoying the matcha made by the instructor, you can try making it yourself. The workshop will be conducted in Japanese, but assistants who speak English or German can be provided. Please contact us for other languages. The venue is a private room in a Japanese restaurant, a 5-minute walk from Kagoshima Chuo Station.
