Welcome to Kanazawa! Whether it's a sunny or rainy day, you'll have fun wearing a kimono! Kanazawa is a city where kimonos look good, but it's a waste to just wear a kimono and go sightseeing! Since this is a great opportunity, why not come into contact with Kanazawa's traditional culture even just a little bit and have an experience that can only be had at that time? ``Even if you forget your lunch, don't forget your umbrella!'' It rains a lot in Kanazawa, so you might be worried about whether you'll be able to wear a kimono and take a leisurely stroll. You won't have to worry about that at all if you try making hagire art while wearing a kimono! -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------<What is kimono hagire art making? >This is an experience where you carefully untie kimonos that have become unwearable due to burnt holes or stains that won't come off, cut them into small pieces, and attach them to paper patterns using kimono hagire to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art. We have various patterns unique to Kanazawa, such as Kanazawa Station's drum gate, Kenrokuen's Kotoji lantern, and Kanazawa Castle, so please choose the one you like! For children, there are also simple patterns such as dinosaurs and flowers. Anyone can easily tackle it. What's interesting is that even with the same pattern, depending on the kimono haggis used, you can end up with a variety of different designs! ! You can frame your completed work on the spot and take it home! -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------<Plan details> ① First, you will put on a kimono and do your hair. You can choose your favorite kimono from hundreds of types and wear it, and we also have a personal hairdresser on hand, so you can leave your hair styled using your favorite hair ornaments! ②After wearing the kimono, we will create a one-of-a-kind kimono hagire art. Choose your favorite pattern, cut the edges with scissors, and paste it with glue. Art has no answers! There are various types of creations, including those who create boldly and those who create delicately! We will give you advice on recommended color schemes, etc., and you can enjoy the experience while chatting with our friendly staff in a homely atmosphere! Since this is an experience while wearing a kimono, it may be a little difficult to work, but let's have fun! ③ Decide on the color of the frame ④ Choose the color of the frame and place the work Once completed, you can frame it on the spot and take it home. We would be happy if you could display it on your entrance or wall as one of your wonderful memories of sightseeing in Kanazawa. After the experience, leave for sightseeing in Kanazawa! Please enjoy Kanazawa to the fullest! (You can also go sightseeing in Kanazawa before the experience.) Our plans changed due to sudden rain... Since the lecturer will give a solid lecture, we will support you to make your original work with your own ideas. Please feel free to consult if you do not understand ♪
This was a really fun experience. You can make either a mug, bowl or tea cup out of clay. You knead the clay with your hands rather than shape it on a potter’s wheel. The teacher was very patient and encouraging despite our clumsy efforts. You can personalise the object by adding your name and other designs like flower imprints or stripes. You can also choose the colour of the glaze. Firing the object will take a few days, but they can post the finished product to you even if you live outside Japan. I highly recommend this activity.

The name is honest. It’s not a tourist trap. This was a great way to experience the art of form, sparring, and cutting with katana. I couldn’t have asked for a more fun time. Sumida is energetic, clear, patient, and motivated to give you an excellent experience. When you arrive you’ll change into a kimono then receive a class on the history and design of katanas. You’ll then practice forms, spar with Sumida and the students, and end by cutting two types of tatami mats. Purchase the experience you won’t regret it.
