Do you know the "Kanji of the Year" announced every December at Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto? This is a performance in which the "Kanji of the Year" character, which represents the state of the world for the year, is written large with a brush. "Taisho" means "to write large so that it is particularly noticeable." You can experience this "Taisho performance" at the popular Japanese culture experience cafe in Asakusa. There is no limit to the characters you can write. Please write your free ideas with a brush. Artistic calligrapher and contemporary artist Koji Takano will carefully guide you, so even beginners can feel at ease. Of course, you can take the completed work home with you. The performance is sure to look great on video! Let's keep a memento of the performance where you became an artist! You can face "calligraphy" by yourself and become an artist. The dresser will wear a mask, but customers can wear one if they wish. The return time is by 8pm, so you can enjoy Kyoto at night, including the light-up and meals.
