3 minutes walk from JR Omori Station, Tokyo①A calligraphy experience class will be held in the grounds of Omori Sanno Hie Shrine. In an ancient Japanese-style room, you can write kanji and kana using real brushes, Japanese paper, ink, and inkstones. All tools will be provided here, so please come empty-handed. You can take home the work you have written (if you wish, we will provide a frame and a seal). The instructor is a Bunka Calligraphy Higher Master and also teaches at several calligraphy classes in Tokyo. ②On the second floor of the same building, we hold lessons for the Iwama-ryu Aikido class, and if the time is right, you can also observe and experience it. In addition to physical techniques, there are also weapon techniques (using swords, canes, and daggers). ③In addition, simple tea utensils will be provided upon request, so you can experience the tea ceremony by making your own matcha. ④Nearby is Omori Shell Mound Park, where you can take a stroll and feel the Jomon period. Let's wear a yukata and experience authentic Japanese traditional dance in Asakusa, a district of Tokyo which is the hub of arts! Yoko Namishima - a teacher with over 30 years of experience gives instructions with joy and great attention to each learner. In case of 2 or more participants, she performs a nihonbuyo-dance after the lesson! We are delighted to have everyone from beginners to even those who find hard to wear yukata! Feel free to join us! 【Namishima Yoko Nihon Buyo Class】 ・You can learn about the spirit of harmony and hospitality through the nihonbuyo-dance. ・By easy-to-understand instructions you can learn dancing with an easy mind. ・Lesson held in a perfect environment: a 3-minute walk from the main station and Asakusa district which is the hub of arts. ・Professional instructions are provided by Namishima teacher from traditional and contemporary dances to yukata dressing. Japanese traditional dance "nihon-buyo" is a part of "kabuki" called "shosa-mono" which means movement. Yoko Namishima left Nihon-buyo school and created her own stage performance, and became a representative of「Shin-buyo」which is a new style of dancing. Her concept is to promote the Japanese spirit of harmony and hospitality through the dance and she is involved as an instructor of dancing, sword battling and kimono dressing in performances held all over the country and across the world .

For 4 days only, we will be offering a plan where you can enjoy a special lunch prepared by a top chef and a Japanese cultural experience at the VIP lounge of the National Stadium. In addition to the "fusion of French and Japanese cuisine" by chef Iwao Asamizuya of the French restaurant and deli "Maison de Cerise" in Daikanyama, and Japanese cuisine by owner Sadaharu Nakajima of "Shinjuku Kappo Nakajima", we will also offer a Japanese cultural experience, including calligraphy by guest Aoyagi Misen, and karate including demonstrations and practical experience (kata). Born in Tokyo in 1971. He discovered the fun of cooking when he was in high school and became involved in cooking after graduating from a vocational school. At the age of 22, he was fascinated by French cuisine and traveled to France. After that, he studied under Toki at Terra's, Auberge Kusunoki, and Ginza Lecan, and at the age of 29, he opened Maison de Cerise in Setagaya. After seven years of activity, he moved to his current location in Daikanyama. It was renovated in January 2017 and continues to operate today. His philosophy is to always approach cooking with an attitude that puts the ingredients first. He travels around the country every day in search of delicious food and ingredients. ・Nakajima Sadaharu (Japanese cuisine: November 6th, November 20th) Owner and head chef of Shinjuku Kappo Nakajima. Born in Hiroo, Shibuya Ward, Tokyo in 1956. His grandfather was Nakajima Sadajiro, the first head chef of Hoshioka Saryo, run by Kitaoji Rosanjin, and he was born and raised in a family of chefs. After training in Kyoto, he succeeded his father, Sadazo, as the second-generation owner of Shinjuku Kappo Nakajima in 1980. With the taste and technique he has honed since he was a child, he expresses both traditional and new Japanese cuisine. He is highly regarded in the culinary world. He is active in many areas, including media appearances and writing. ・Aoyagi Misen (Japanese culture experience/calligraphy: November 18th, November 25th) He began learning calligraphy at the age of 4 under the influence of his grandmother. He has performed calligraphy performances in over 10 countries around the world. In Japan, he has written calligraphy for the TV anime "Dororo" based on the original work by Osamu Tezuka, the famous hunting game "Monster Hunter Rise", and other games. In 2020, he performed an opening calligraphy performance in front of approximately 58,000 spectators at the "99th Emperor's Cup Final", which was held as the opening sporting event at the National Stadium. The following year, he worked on the VIP room work and the wall work in the flash interview zone at the National Stadium, and has a deep connection with the sacred National Stadium. In 2023, he will perform a dedication calligraphy at the World Heritage Site "Koyasan". He works under the motto of tradition and innovation and has appeared on TBS's "Jonetsu Tairiku." You can experience a stadium tour with track and field athletes at the National Stadium, where the Tokyo 2025 World Championships in Athletics will be held in September next year, and after changing into comfortable clothes, you can participate in a running experience event held on the stadium track. This is a valuable experience limited to 40 people per group, where you can run with athletes while receiving a lecture on running. Please join us. *Artificial turf will be laid on the track on October 27th and November 24th. The running experience event will also be held on the artificial turf. *Please bring your own clothes and shoes that are easy to exercise in. You can change in the changing room. Please refrain from wearing spikes in order to protect the track. ■Profile ・ Asuka Terada (Participated: October 27th 1st and 2nd Divisions, December 15th 2nd Division) Former Japanese record holder in the 100m hurdles in track and field. Represented Japan at the Tokyo Olympics. She started athletics in the fourth grade of elementary school, won the 100m hurdles at the Inter-High School Championships three times in a row in high school, and won the 100m and 4x100m relay in her third year, achieving a triple crown. She won the Japan Championships three times in a row from 2008 to 2010, competed at the World Athletics Championships in 2009, and was ranked number one in the junior rankings in the world, but retired in 2013 due to injuries and eating disorders. After entering university and giving birth in 2014, she switched to rugby sevens in 2016 and returned to active competition. She returned to athletics at the end of 2018. The following year, she set a new Japanese record for the first time in 19 years and competed at the World Athletics Championships for the first time in 10 years. In 2021, she broke the Japanese record twice, won the Japan Championships for the first time in 11 years, and competed in the Tokyo Olympics. She became the first Japanese athlete to advance to the semi-finals in this event in 21 years.・Tobe Naoto (Participation: November 24th, Part 1 & 2, December 15th, Part 1) Athletics, Japan record holder in high jump. Representing Japan at the Tokyo Olympics. In his third year of high school, he set a Japanese high school record (at the time) of 2.23m at the Niigata National Sports Festival, and won a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships the following year in 2010. After that, he participated in the 2015 World Championships in Athletics Beijing and won a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, and in 2019 he set a Japanese record of 2.35m, won the overall championship at the IAAF World Indoor Tour, and was ranked number one in the world. In 2021, he will compete in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, advancing to the finals.

This is a public bath culture experience tour for foreigners visiting Japan. We will introduce you to the culture of public baths at Kogane-yu, located in Kinshicho, Sumida Ward. On the day of the event, we will provide an explanation about public bath culture for about an hour and a half, followed by a bathing and sauna experience. ~ Experience flow ~ 9:30 Sento culture experience At the changing room or lounge, we will provide detailed information about public bath culture, bathing methods, the background of Kogane-yu's renovation, and information on Kogane-yu's facilities. We will also have a simple quiz on the day. There are many stories that can only be learned at Koganeyu! 11:00 Bathing/sauna experience After receiving the public bath culture experience, let's try our hand at actually taking a bath. You should be able to learn about public bath culture firsthand. 12:00 Dismissal time is an estimate. They will each be disbanded. After bathing and experiencing the sauna, enjoy free time to your heart's content at Kogane Kitchen and craft beer.
