Plan description

Would you like to try making Muchi, a traditional Okinawan sweet? Muchi is a soft rice cake wrapped in aromatic shell ginger leaves (sannin), steamed to perfection. This cozy experience invites you to enjoy the gentle scent of the leaves, the warmth of island life, and the joy of making something with your hands.Perfect for first-timers and families. You'll get to taste your handmade Muchi on the spot.Come and enjoy a peaceful, heartwarming time in Okinawa's kitchen!

A moment to enjoy with all five senses, surrounded by shell ginger leaves

This is an experience plan to make Okinawa's traditional snack "muchi". The greatest attraction of making muchi is the gentle fragrance that rises from the shell ginger (Sannin) leaves. As you wrap the dough and steam it, you will be enveloped in the soft fragrance that spreads, and your heart will be soothed. This moment where you can feel the blessings of nature is truly Okinawan "nuchigusui" (medicine of life).

Come empty-handed! Enjoy casually

All the ingredients and tools are provided here. We provide thorough support even for beginners, so anyone can enjoy the experience with peace of mind. You can taste the mochi you make on the spot.

A moment to experience Okinawa's traditional houses

This muchi-making experience will be held in a quaint old Okinawan house. The space is filled with the scent of wood and natural light, and has a nostalgic, relaxing feel. The event is hosted by two women, one from Okinawa and the other a transplant, so you can have fun chatting about all sorts of things!
