Plan description

After deepening understanding by actually touching the kintsugi works, the history of kintsugi, the philosophy, materials and techniques, and lacquer will be introduced, The workshop will also include demonstrations of each step of the kintsugi process.Participants will experience some of the five processes including the final process of applying lacquer and metallic( tin )powder sprinkling. We share inspiring moments of kintsugi. Japanese tea will be included. All materials and tools will be provided.

This course offer a rare opportunity to experience the traditional technique of kintsugi using lacquer. This is a food-safe technique that uses only natural materials.While many other kintsugi experiences use quick and easy kintsugi techniques with resin and completed in a single day.

＜Instructor＞Ms. Yumi Tsubota (President of the kintsugi class "Kintsugi Link") Born in Nara Prefecture. Worked as MD Planner,Fashion Designer, Fashion Director of the Department Store.
