Consultation is required※※※The National Treasure Nageire-do Hall is located on Mt. Mitoku in Misasa Town, Tottori Prefecture, and is known as the most dangerous national treasure in Japan. Come and worship at the hall, surrounded by the autumn yellow leaves of the forest, by walking along the Shugendo trail to the hall. You can view the hall from the remote worship site at the foot of the mountain, but you should walk the Shugendo trail with all your heart and soul, and purify yourself of the impurities of the Six Senses Cleansing, to worship at the hall up close. To worship at the hall up close, you will have to walk the steep Shugendo trail, climbing tree roots, climbing chains, and walking through rocky mountains, even though it is a short distance. You will have to go back and forth on the same path, but it is also dangerous when descending. Also, you must have at least two people to enter the mountain, so if you are traveling alone or doing solo activities, you will have to go with someone. In order to protect the natural environment and maintain Shugendo, trekking poles and other walking sticks are not allowed. A local guide will accompany you on the strict Shugendo experience, which can be dangerous, so you can experience Shugendo safely and with peace of mind. If you feel that you cannot go alone, please use a guide as a travel companion or Shugendo leader. *Mt. Mitoku itself is a mountain with an elevation of 899m, but the area where the Nageire Hall is located is a low mountain at an elevation of 400m. Mt. Mitoku/Nageredo is a steep mountain ascetic practice, so there are rules that prohibit you from climbing alone. I have seen many people who came without knowing about the mountain and left disappointed at the reception desk. It's frustrating to come all the way and still not be able to climb a mountain. In such a case, please read the guide who can guide you through Shugendo with safety and security first!

Mt. Mitoku and Nageiredo are closed for the winter from December to March, and will reopen in April of next year. We recommend visiting from November to November 30th, when the yellow leaves are at their best. Of course, we also recommend the spring cherry blossoms, the flower of Misasa Town, the rhododendron season, and the season of fresh greenery (April to May)! Mt. The Shugendo trail to Nageire-do is such that it is impossible to enter the mountain in rainy weather. Shugendo is a dangerous practice. (For this reason, we ask those traveling far away to prepare a backup schedule and allow plenty of time for their trip.)Depending on the age and physical strength of the customer, we may require you to wear a helmet or use ropes to ensure your safety.
