Plan description

Naritasan Shinshoji Temple has a history of over 1,000 years and is visited by 10 million people a year. It is the No. 1 temple in Japan, with over 3 million visitors visiting on the first three days of the year. Naritasan Shinshoji Temple is said to have become a popular tourist destination due to the influence of Kabuki and railways. The first generation Ichikawa Danjuro, who was not blessed with a child, earnestly prayed for a child at Yakushi-do, the main temple at the time on Mt. Narita, where his father was born near this place. Then, wonderfully, they were blessed with their long-awaited first son. Danjuro Ichikawa's play of Fudo Myoo and the dekaicho of transporting the principal image to Edo to receive worshipers attracted tremendous faith from the common people of Edo, and ``Pilgrimage to Narita'' became very popular. The Ichikawa Danjuro family, famous for its trade name "Naritaya," and Naritasan Shinshoji Temple have been connected since Edo Genroku by the first generation's faith in Naritasan Fudoson, and that relationship continues to this day. Established in the Meiji era, the current JR and Keisei railways were used to transport visitors to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. It was common for pilgrims from Tokyo to stay overnight, but with the introduction of the railway to Narita, it is now possible to visit Narita on a day trip, with a one-way trip of about two hours. Seiso Electric Tramway Co., Ltd. was established in 1911 to transport passengers who got off at Narita Station to the vicinity of Naritasan and Sogo Reido temple gates. The entire 6.1km line to the temple is now open. The brick-built "Seisune Train Second Tunnel" and "Seisong Train First Tunnel" remain on the "Densha Road" one street away from the lively Omotesando of Naritasan, and are recognized as a "modern civil engineering heritage site." . This is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Narita, and the best time to see the cherry blossoms is from late March to early April every year. Along the way, we will return to Omotesando and tour Yakushi-do, the main hall where Danjuro Ichikawa the first prayed for a child, and visit places related to the Ichikawa family. On the way, I took off my shoes and went up to the main hall, where I burnt away the worldly desires that are the cause of mental hesitation and suffering with the flames of the goma, and removed my personal belongings such as amulets, prayer beads, bags, and wallets. You will also experience ``ohikaji'', which involves holding objects over a flame. You can freely dissolve here. Take a leisurely tour of the five nationally important cultural properties of the former main hall, Komyo-do and Shakado, the three-storied pagoda, Nio-mon, and Gakudo, as well as Naritasan Park, or visit the more than 150 restaurants and souvenir shops along Omotesando, which stretches approximately 800 meters to Narita Station. Please return to JR and Keisei Narita Station while watching.
