The English name octopus is directly borrowed from the Latin word "Octopus". This means "eight-legged" ὀκτώπους (oktōpous) in classical Greek. In Japanese, in addition to the standard Japanese name, it is also written as octopus, octopus, salmon, chapter fish, and sardine.

It mainly inhabits rocky reefs and sandy areas. It lives in the ocean, dislikes freshwater, and does not live in brackish waters such as estuaries.
It features eight arms with multiple suction cups. Zoologically, it is a foot and is generally called a "foot", but due to its ability to grasp objects, the foot, especially in cephalopods, is also referred to as an "arm" (also called an arm in English).
The large rounded part that looks like the head is actually the torso, and the true head is the part where the eyes and mouth organs are gathered at the base of the arm. In other words, the legs (arms) grow from the head, and this is the reason why they are called "cephalopods" together with squid friends who have the same structure.

The position of the octopus in the food web (cf. ecological pyramid, predator-prey relationship) is roughly intermediate predator. The most well-known natural enemy of octopus is the moray eel, but sharks and Thai companions also like octopus. However, this predator-prey relationship is also not one-sided, and in rare cases, large octopuses may prey on small sharks. In the aquarium, there are cases where giant Pacific octopus attacked and killed a spiny dogfish kept in the same aquarium. [16]
On the other hand, octopus is a natural enemy for crustaceans and bivalves, and has a strong tendency to prey on it. An octopus that is superior in size to its prey can crush crustacean shells and pry open tightly closed bivalve shells with the strong muscle strength of its arms.

You can make only one Ryukyu glass in the world, which is made by the old-fashioned air-blown manufacturing method! The Ryukyu glass we make is a waste Ryukyu glass made by reusing awamori bottles. You can make glass made by the same method as Ryukyu glass that was made in old Okinawa. However, it wasn't just a breathtaking glass experience, but a variety of processes for myself.

JapanOctopus is deeply rooted in the Japanese diet. Around 2000, imports from Morocco in North Africa increased, exceeding 60% of the total, but due to the decrease in biomass due to overfishing, fishing was often banned (8 from September 2003). For months, etc.), imports from other production areas are increasing [22]. Various species of octopus are known, In Japan, the term "octopus" generally refers to octopus, which is familiar to people such as edible octopus. The relationship between Japanese and octopus is old, and several octopus trap-shaped pottery have been excavated from the Yayoi period ruins in Osaka prefecture such as the Ikegami and Sone ruins. [23]
It is often cooked and many seeds turn bright red when boiled. In cooking, it is used as an ingredient for sashimi, sushi, boiled octopus, vinegared sardines, vinegared miso sauce, and oden. It is also popular as an ingredient for takoyaki and Akashiyaki, which is the original form of takoyaki. In addition, it is served for oyster rice in areas around the Seto Inland Sea. As a pretreatment, salt is often found to remove the slime on the surface. It is low in calories and rich in protein, especially taurine. It also contains a lot of zinc. The ones in the summer are especially delicious. In the Kansai region, it is customary to eat octopus in the half-summer [Note 1], but this is supplemented with taurine. Summer heat Is said to prevent. In the beginning of autumn, the eggs inside the female's body are wrapped in an ivory-colored bag, which is called an octopus bag and is boiled and eaten. Eggs after spawning are called kaitoge because of their shape and are salted. The squid sucker has fine and sharp teeth arranged in a ring, while the octopus sucker does not have it, and it is large and fleshy, so the texture itself is pleasing. In addition, in the Shimokita Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture, boiled octopus guts are nicknamed "tools" and are eaten as sashimi or pot ingredients. [24]

Scuba diving / scuba diving [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] (English: scuba diving) is scuba [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12 ] [6] / Scuba [9] [12] (self-sufficient underwater breathing device [8], underwater lungs [12], en) diving (diving). On the other hand, diving that holds your breath is called freediving, and diving that supplies air from the ground with a hose is called surface-supplied diving (Hooker diving). In Japan, the American company Aqua Lung introduced it, and at one point the company name "Aqua-lung" was often used to mean scuba diving (cf. Aqualung). In this article, "diving" is used to mean "scuba diving" unless otherwise specified.
