The official name is Certification Card. It is a certificate that proves that you have acquired knowledge and skills (instruction standards). There are several types, such as Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver, depending on the diver's rank and technique. If you don't dive for a while, your skills will deteriorate, so it is recommended that you take a course to refresh your knowledge. Introductory level courses teach the knowledge and skills necessary to dive with a buddy (an instructor, staff member, or other diving partner) during the day in calm sea conditions at a depth of 18m or less.

First of all, I was curious as to whether it was scuba or sukuba, so I looked it up. Apparently it's just a matter of whether you pronounce SCUBA in an English way or a European way, and either is fine, but to avoid confusion, the Japan Scuba Association has announced that they will standardize it as "sukuba." But sukuba is what I hear most often, so it seems like either is fine. I guess I'm still a sukuba person. Somehow, saying sukuba makes me feel like saying "Development Day" for a DVD.

Speaking of Yakushima, of course, there is the Jomon cedar. And the Yayoi cedar of Shiratani Unsuikyo, famous for being the model for the movie "Princess Mononoke". I'm listening to Princess Mononoke right now as I write this blog. My tense bow is trembling. The charm of Princess Mononoke is that it's not at all annoying, which is typical of Ghibli heroines. The visual beauty is also amazing, which makes it hard to believe it was made in 1997, although I'm not particularly fond of it.

This time, I looked into the popular "wakeboarding" experience, which could be said to be the king of lake activities! I borrowed a video of Gachapin trying it out lol It's always been a water sport I've wanted to try, so I'm planning to try it for the first time at Lake Yamanaka this summer. This time, I looked into Kumejima, an island in Okinawa Prefecture that I've wanted to visit but haven't been able to yet. Kumejima is located in the East China Sea, about 100km west of Okinawa's main island. It is a large island that ranks alongside Miyakojima and Ishigakijima as a popular island, and has been called the most beautiful in the Ryukyu Islands. There are several settlements, and you can enjoy typical Okinawan scenery such as red-tiled buildings and sugarcane fields. A barrier reef (a coral reef that acts as a breakwater to protect the land from waves) has developed around the island.

Miyakojima has many attractive beaches such as Yonaha Maehama Beach, Yoshino Beach, Aragusuku Beach, Sunayama Beach, Miyako Sunset Beach, and Shigira Beach, but I'm curious about where I can snorkel. Looking at the location of the shop, it's near Painagama Beach. A little bit of trivia about Painagama Beach is that there is a Coco Store nearby so you can easily buy a cold beer and it's also a great place to just laze around at night. There is no specific schedule, and there is no meeting place, but they will pick you up at your accommodation, so I wonder if they will go to a good spot nearby. My wish is to snorkel in a place that only locals know about.

What I'm interested in is the "hoverboard," a water pressure activity similar to the "flyboard"! First of all, doesn't it look incredibly cool to ride it? Of course, it's easy to imagine that it takes a lot of training to achieve the skills of this level, but it's fun to challenge yourself, thinking that if you get better, you can do it. I found something crazy lol. "Hurricane Boat" is a thrilling activity to enjoy in nature!! First, I'd like you to get a feel for the atmosphere in the video above. It's a super fun activity where you get on a round boat and get spun around!! It's faster than it looks in the video, and I can imagine it's intense lol. This is a canoe cruising tour on the Sorachi River, held in Furano, Hokkaido from late April to the end of October. The Sorachi River is a popular place for activities, and apparently rafting experience tours are also held there, but I chose this one because the image of leisurely paddling a canoe while taking in Hokkaido's magnificent scenery is perfect for my current mood. What's more, one of my favorite things about this plan is that it advertises itself as a "fully chartered private tour, one tour, one boat, one group." It feels a bit different to experience something as noisy and chaotic as other customers in such a magnificent landscape... (though of course there are times when that's a good thing).

Ishigaki Island in Okinawa Prefecture is of course full of charm, but you can also go to various other remote islands from Ishigaki Port. I have been to Taketomi Island, Kuroshima Island, Hateruma Island, and Hatoma Island, and each island's beaches had their own charms and were fun. I have a hard time deciding where to go every year because I want to go to those islands again and I also want to go to islands I've never been to. This time, I looked into Kohama Island, which I've never been to.

There are several diving shops on Yonaguni Island, but this one had the best reviews on a certain website. I was a beginner who had only dived once, so I was a little worried, but the plan description said that an experienced guide would dive one-on-one from start to finish, so I felt at ease. It's really reassuring to have a staff member with you one-on-one. The tour starts with practice diving in shallow waters → boat diving → the main event: diving at the ruins (ruin experience diving course).

So, do you all know Minna Island? It is pronounced "Minnajima". It is a popular tourist destination, being only 15 minutes by high-speed boat from Toguchi Port on the main island of Okinawa. The shallow sea is safe for small children, so it is also good for families. I have been interested in it every year, but I have not been able to go yet because it takes two hours by bus from Naha Airport to Toguchi Port, which I think is a hassle. But this year is the year!
