A private trekking tour with a guide around the sights of Mt. Nokogiri, a lesser-known mountain on the Boso Peninsula. This is a special tour that allows you to enjoy the sights of Mt. Nokogiri, a unique mountain where the remains of the stone-cutting industry that supported the region and the Buddhist world of Nihon-ji Temple are back to back, all in one day! We start by walking through the streets of Kanaya, which flourished as a stone-cutting industry from the Edo period to the Showa period, and then head to the Nokogiriyama Ropeway Station. After entering the grounds of Nihon-ji Temple and worshiping the "Hyakushaku Kannon," we trace the scenery and history of the remains of the quarry, which once flourished as a stone-cutting industry and now stands like an ancient ruin. After that, we proceed while listening to the guide's explanations about the sights such as the famous photo spots "Peeking into Hell" and "1,500 Arhats," and the tallest "Great Buddha" in Japan (as a seated statue and rock-carved Buddha), and finally descend the mountain by ropeway and disband. *There will be a lunch break along the way.
There is much to enjoy: natural landscapes, human interaction with the environment, religious customs, flora and fauna, history, and much more. Interesting anecdotes and views as well as a few scary moments and many photo opportunities are part of the enjoyment factor. The guide's English was fine and she was knowledgeable enough about each topic to keep the participants interested. She was attentive to my needs and accommodating to my humor.

Nokogiriyama is known as a lesser known mountain on the Boso Peninsula. With its jagged ridgeline resembling the teeth of a saw, and the remains of the quarry where Boso stone was quarried by the stone-cutting industry until the Showa era, it looks like an abandoned building, and this otherworldly space that appears in the middle of nature has become popular. On this tour, you will pass through the streets of Kanaya, which once flourished as a stone-cutting industry, and climb the "Sharikko Road," a road that once transported quarried stone, with a guide. While enjoying the climb, which is low above sea level but has a large elevation difference, you will feel the breath of the craftsmen of the time, and trace the history of how Boso stone supported Japan's modernization and declined over time.

This is a private kagura performance where a small group of 1 to 10 people can enjoy Iwami Kagura, a traditional performing art that has been passed down in the western part of Shimane Prefecture since ancient times, at Ryugozen Shrine in the hot spring town of Yunotsu, Shimane Prefecture. Iwami Kagura is a dance that has been practiced since ancient times in the Iwami region of western Shimane Prefecture, mainly based on Japanese mythology, and is danced to lively music while wearing gorgeous costumes woven with gold and silver threads and expressive masks. It is a traditional performing art that has been passed down. With this plan, you can enjoy a local sake pairing from ``Wakabayashi Sake Brewery,'' a sake brewery in Onsentsu that has been in business for over 100 years, in a private space limited to one group per day and a maximum of 10 people. After the performance, you can also get to know the behind-the-scenes aspects of traditional performing arts, such as interacting with dancers, trying on costumes, playing music, and taking photos. (For customers who prefer non-alcoholic drinks, we use Iwashimizu, Wakabayashi Sake Brewery's brewing water, and also enjoy ``mulberry tea,'' a material used to make Sekishu washi paper used in the production of Kagura masks. *Seasonal) (The tea leaves may change depending on the situation) If you like tradition, history, and theater performances, you can enjoy it regardless of your age or nationality.
