Koyasan is a sacred place of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism founded by Kobo Daishi Kukai 1200 years ago. The entire area of Mt. Koya is called ``Kongobu-ji, the head temple.'' In particular, ``Okunoin'' and ``Danjo Garan'' are two of the most sacred places of worship. We will guide you through spots such as Danjo Garan, Okunoin, Koyasan Shichibenten, etc. in the style of a trainee monk. It is also recommended that you experience training in the same way as the former Shugenja, and visit the legends related to Kukai. This experience work is recommended for those who want to learn more about Koyasan. Half day and full day courses are available.

"Hidden Christian Sites in Nagasaki and Amakusa Region" registered as a World Heritage Site in July 2018. Most of them are remote islands, but there is only one area in Nagasaki that can be reached by car. It is the Sotome area located on the border with Saikai City in the northern part of the prefecture. While escaping to Amakusa and Goto in the distance, the area that became the root of "hidden" is "Sotome". It is also the place where Shusaku Endo's book "Silence" was set. The "Hidden Christian Cultural Museum" and "Karematsu Shrine", which are important for learning about the history of Hidden Christians, are included in the course, and finally, by visiting the Endo Shusaku Literary Museum, you can go through the history of Hidden Christians step by step. I will continue. It is a one-day course that goes through the history of hidden Christians for 250 years.

The Higashiyama district, which produces tea that has been designated as a World Agricultural Heritage Site, is one of the highest quality tea producing areas in the prefecture, but in recent years there has been an increase in the number of dilapidated tea plantations in this area. Also, as a fun activity before and after your meal, you can work up a sweat by climbing up to the top of Mt. Awagatake, the symbol of the area, for about 30 minutes. From the mountaintop terrace, you can see the large tea garden below, the Oi River, Suruga Bay, and the Izu Peninsula on the horizon. On clear days from autumn to winter, you can even see Mt. Fuji. After your meal, enjoy a sencha ceremony where you can brew delicious tea yourself using a teapot. Local staff and farmers will give you detailed instructions, so please try it at home! ~Procedure of the experience~ ① Gather at Higashiyama Ippukudokoro (10:00) ② Welcome tea and program information at local Higashiyama tea (about 20 minutes) ③ Tea picking experience at a ruined tea plantation halfway up Mt. This is a private kagura performance where a small group of 1 to 10 people can enjoy Iwami Kagura, a traditional performing art that has been passed down in the western part of Shimane Prefecture since ancient times, at Ryugozen Shrine in the hot spring town of Yunotsu, Shimane Prefecture. Iwami Kagura is a dance that has been practiced since ancient times in the Iwami region of western Shimane Prefecture, mainly based on Japanese mythology, and is danced to lively music while wearing gorgeous costumes woven with gold and silver threads and expressive masks. It is a traditional performing art that has been passed down. With this plan, you can enjoy a local sake pairing from ``Wakabayashi Sake Brewery,'' a sake brewery in Onsentsu that has been in business for over 100 years, in a private space limited to one group per day and a maximum of 10 people. After the performance, you can also get to know the behind-the-scenes aspects of traditional performing arts, such as interacting with dancers, trying on costumes, playing music, and taking photos. In addition, the ``Kagura Cup,'' the cup into which sake is poured, is handmade by ``Kameya Ceramics,'' a company that manufactures the stone tiles that decorate roofs in the Iwami region, and you can take it home as a souvenir after viewing it. (For customers who prefer non-alcoholic drinks, we use Iwashimizu, Wakabayashi Sake Brewery's brewing water, and also enjoy ``mulberry tea,'' a material used to make Sekishu washi paper used in the production of Kagura masks. *Seasonal) (The tea leaves may change depending on the situation) If you like tradition, history, and theater performances, you can enjoy it regardless of your age or nationality.

At Mitsuishi Fudoson, a traditional esoteric Buddhist temple that worships the waterfall where Kobo Daishi trained at the age of 21, we will practice rituals at the goma and make our wishes come true. The prayer priest is Sato Myosen (representative of the Kishu Koyasan Yokofue Association), a nun who lives in Mt. Koya. After the Goma prayer, if the weather is good, you can visit the waterfall and achieve a unique purification. ``Imadate, the town of Echizen washi with a history of 1,500 years.'' It is said that Echizen washi began when a beautiful woman came down from the mountains and taught the villagers how to make washi. On this tour, you will walk around Imadate and visit two Japanese paper making workshops, Ryozo Yanase Paper Mill and Nagata Paper Mill. The large torii gate at the entrance of Imadate is an eye-catching photo spot. Other than that, one of the pleasures of traveling is finding your own favorite points while walking around the city, such as the nostalgic townscapes with history and the mountains covered with clouds on rainy days. ▼▼▼ First of all, let me introduce you to the Japanese paper making studio, Ryozo Yanase Paper Mills. At the workshop, you can see the molds used in the technique of mold rakusui paper, and experience making Japanese paper using mold rakusui paper. (Depending on the day, we may not be able to tour the studio, and in that case we may use video to explain.) ▼▼▼ After the paper-making experience, visit the Echizen Washi specialty shop "RYOZO" attached to the studio. Let's take a peek. "In order to continue as a production area, I want people to know about the various washi papermaking workshops in this production area." With this in mind, RYOZO offers a variety of washi accessories from the washi papermaking workshops in the production area in addition to its own products. increase. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask Mr. Yanase what kind of workshop they are made in. ▼▼▼ After visiting Ryozo Yanase Paper Mill, we will walk to Nagata Paper Mill. The retro workshop where you can feel the times is the workshop of craftsmen who have been making Japanese paper for generations. At the workshop, you can hear directly from craftsmen about the raw materials of washi, the role of machines, and washi made by various methods. ▼▼▼ After the tour, go to the attached shop. In a complete turn from a workshop that makes large Japanese paper, cute Japanese paper accessories that tickle the hearts of women are lined up. There are also a wide variety of items such as business card holders, torinoko notebooks, and stamp books made from Japanese paper. You may be able to find unique items that catch your eye with unisex designs. After leaving Nagata Paper Mill, walk to your next destination. ▼▼▼ At the end of the trip, visit Otaki Shrine and Okamoto Shrine, which enshrine the god of paper. Kawakami Gozen, the only god of Japanese paper, is enshrined, and the precincts have a calm and soothing atmosphere. You will be overwhelmed by the shrine building with a cypress bark roof designated as an important cultural property of the country! ▼▼▼ And the tour ends here. Finally, we will take a commemorative photo etc. Travel to Imadate, the town watched over by the god of Japanese paper, and experience the techniques and thoughts of craftsmen.
