Noshiro City in Akita Prefecture is a city at the mouth of the Yoneshiro River, and has a port that is convenient for transporting felled Akita cedar. Lumber is exported domestically and overseas, and it has been called "the No. 1 wooden city in the Orient". Even today, there are many wood-related companies in the city. You will assemble wooden "Kumiko parts" from scratch. There is some fine work, but the work of assembling them together is addictive!
