The Ishikari Discharge Channel, a shortcut that connects the Ibarato River to Ishikari Bay, is a hidden spot for smelt fishing. The seawall is well maintained and you can enjoy it as if you were at a fishing pond. The location of smelt changes depending on the weather, and if your hunch is right, you may catch up to 40 smelt in an hour. Why not try fishing during the recommended time?
