(For elementary school students, cypress wood is recommended, but Yamazakura wood is hard, so in most cases it cannot be shaved at all. The green season Aoki Lake/Lake Nakatsuna smelt boat fishing, tempura, and day camp includes a tempura set rental, so it is a recommended plan for those who want to enjoy smelt fishing and tempura casually! The opening of the winter fishing season for smelt holes at Lake Nakatsuna depends on the weather and smelt resources. It was not lifted in 2025, 2024, or 2023. It was lifted in 2022, but not in 2021. This area is a cold region with a lot of snowfall. When there is a lot of snowfall, the snow acts as a cold protection and true ice does not form.
