At NIHO Shared Living, you can discover the charms of Kamakura that are not listed in travel guides by dining with the diverse locals who live in Kamakura. While enjoying home cooking made with seasonal ingredients, you will discover a new side of Kamakura through friendly conversation, from hidden spots and shops that only locals know about, to the joys and hardships of living in Kamakura. Depending on the interests of the participants, we can invite Kamakura residents with various backgrounds, such as artists, local history buffs, and housewives who love cooking. For example, we will provide a place for interaction that suits your interests, such as "I'm interested in the Kamakura art scene" or "I want to know more about the history of the ancient capital." The charm of this experience is that it is a small group (maximum 8 people) and you can enjoy honest conversation in a relaxed atmosphere. You can also learn about Kamakura's ingredients and cooking methods through a simple cooking experience. ~Experience flow~ 18:30 Welcome time/self-introduction Toast with a seasonal welcome drink. Self-introduction time for the host, local participants, and guests. We will listen to your interests and questions and personalize the flow of the evening. 19:00 Food Culture Lecture/Cooking Experience A mini lecture on the nature and food culture of Kamakura. After an introduction to today's ingredients, you will experience finishing and plating a seasonal dish with locals. We will make various dishes according to the season, such as whitebait rice bowl and kenchinjiru. 19:30 Meal/Interaction Time A fun meal time around homemade dishes. We will talk freely about the life, history, and culture of Kamakura, explaining the origins of each dish. 20:30 Kamakura Information Sharing/Question Time Locals share hidden spots, souvenirs, and restaurant information recommended by locals. We will also give you personal advice tailored to your plans. 21:00 Commemorative photo/Farewell We will end the evening with seasonal tea and sweets. We will take a commemorative photo and see you off in a warm atmosphere. We will also give you a digital souvenir, the "Kamakura Living Guide."

Would you like to try making tea in a tea room? This is a long-established kimono shop, and includes rental and dressing in an authentic kimono. You can come empty-handed and try the tea ceremony wearing a kimono. After enjoying sweets and tea while enjoying the atmosphere of a tea ceremony, you will actually shake the tea whisk and make tea. Please enjoy seasonal sweets and tea. Even if you cannot sit in seiza, we will prepare chairs, so it's okay. Please feel free to join us alone or with friends. ~Experience flow~ (One example. The order of the tea ceremony experience may change depending on the situation) 10:00 Choose your favorite kimono and dress up Choose a rental kimono. Once you have decided, we will dress you. 11:00 Tea ceremony experience First, you will experience a tea ceremony. We will make tea, so you can enjoy sweets and tea while feeling like a customer. 11:45 Try making tea yourself. You can choose your favorite tea bowl from among the many available. You will then actually whisk the tea and prepare it. Please taste it yourself to see if it is delicious. 12:30 End of experience Optional: Stroll around Kamakura in a kimono. After the experience is over, you can go out for a stroll around Kamakura in your kimono if you wish. There is a time limit. A typical home-cooked lunch in Japan. A lesson in English (Japanese) on how to make a bento packed with futomaki and tamagoyaki in a small box. Due to the location of Kamakura, the classroom has many guests from overseas. In addition to making lunch boxes, one of the pleasures is making a simple chopstick case with origami, talking about each food culture, and cross-cultural exchange.
