"Studio Seikan" is a facility with a workshop, shop and cafe, where you can visit the manufacturing site of Yamanaka lacquerware, experience woodturning, shop, and enjoy cafe and sweets with lacquerware. This course includes a workshop tour (with explanation) - making a vase - lacquerware experience at the cafe (one drink included). Lacquerware craftsmen work here every day. In this experience, you can observe them up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will explain it in an easy-to-understand way. Next, you will make your own original lacquered chopsticks at the place where the craftsmen actually work. Think about the design of the chopsticks and paint them with real lacquer. You can experience authentic lacquer painting. The lacquer craftsmen will teach you carefully, so you can make them yourself until they are completed. You will surely be satisfied. It's fun. After that, you can enjoy drinks made with lacquerware at the cafe and taste sweets. Please relax and enjoy the lacquerware experience. Please feel free to ask the staff or craftsmen if you have any questions. Lacquer can cause a rash, but we check beforehand and use gloves to prevent it from coming into contact with the skin, so even small children can experience it. Mikuni Port is considered one of the leading fishing ports in Fukui Prefecture. You can experience making your own ultimate crab bowl using two whole female Echizen crabs, Seiko crabs, purchased from Mikuni Port Market. You can enjoy the experience with the instructor while listening to lectures such as explanations of the parts and how to peel them. Since special crab scissors are used and no knives are used, even beginners and children can participate with confidence. Arrange to your liking on top of rice made with Koshihikari rice grown in Fukui Prefecture, and your original crab bowl is ready! Once completed, enjoy the crab bowl you made at the attached restaurant.
