Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch: On December 28, 1943, a large earthquake occurred near Mt. Usu on the shores of Lake Toya. As a result, the volcano erupted and the earth rapidly rose to form a tall mountain. Volcanic activity continued until September 10, 1945, and there were 17 relatively active volcanic events in two years. In commemoration of this volcanic activity, a new volcano with an elevation of 398 meters was designated a Special Natural Monument in 1957 and named "Showa Shinzan". It is a "new mountain" that is still growing, and white smoke can be seen constantly spewing from the reddish-brown mountains. ▼ At the bear ranch near the entrance to the Showa Shinzan cable car, about 100 purebred Hokkaido brown bears are kept. Only Mashu No. 1 Observation Deck is available during the winter. On the way to Lake Mashu, you can also get a feel for the vastness of Hokkaido at Tawadaira, where you can see the horizon in a large panorama. You can eat Genghis Khan at Tawadaira. We will help you choose a kimono that suits you best from our selection and rent it for a day. (From June to September, we will use yukata.) It's nice that you don't have to worry about time. Traditional kimonos go well with the historical and atmospheric city of Otaru, with its gas lamps and music box museum. The kimonos we offer are retro-modern kimonos that go well with the retro townscape of Otaru. They are different in terms of comfort and the luster of the fabric. They will make a wonderful keepsake.

Noboribetsu Jigokudani was named for its hell-like atmosphere. ▼Oyunuma is a crater formed by the eruption of Mt. Hiyori. Sulfur springs at about 130 degrees gush out from the bottom of the pond, and are the source of the main hot spring inns in Noboribetsu City. There is an observation deck here, where you can look at the steaming lake in front of you, or walk to the lakeside to experience it up close. Even if you are a first-time canoeist, you can go canoeing down the Mimi River. It is a wonderful field that is hard to find even in Japan. The guide will ride in a separate canoe from the customer, and you will be the only one to steer the canoe and leisurely go down through the wetlands where there are many waterfowl. During the tour, you can learn about the history of the Mimi River and the Ainu, and other stories unique to this area, while canoeing and learning from the guide. The field is near New Chitose Airport, and the Mimi River can be seen from the sky when planes take off and land. This is a recommended tour that is perfect for a honeymoon or family trip that you can remember every time you visit Hokkaido in the future. "The tour was fun, but we don't have any photos!!" "We came together, but we don't have any photos of the two of us!!" During the tour, we will give away photos taken with a single-lens reflex camera to anyone who wants them. [Tour Recommendations 1.2.3] ① The river flows slowly, and even at its deepest, it is only about waist-deep for adults, so it is a very shallow river, so you can rest assured. You will not be sharing the canoe. ② There are surprisingly few travel photos! ! Gateway Tours will give you digital photos of your tour! You cannot take photos of yourself in a canoe from inside the canoe. Photos taken in a canoe are memories that will last a lifetime. This service is only available at Gateway Tours! It's worth participating just for the photos. ③You can rest assured that your guide is an outdoor master guide certified by the Hokkaido Prefectural Governor, and also has other guide qualifications, rescue qualifications, and first aid qualifications. *If you are participating with your family or alone, please apply from another plan. https://activityjapan.com/search/?addressAndKeyword=Gateway+Tours

This is a plan limited to Douminwari (Hokkaido residents discount). In this day and age, everything is increasing in price. Hotel rates and activity tours are also increasing in price. It has become difficult for Hokkaido residents to travel to Hokkaido. We hope that customers in Hokkaido will learn about the good things about Hokkaido, so we will offer a price that is easy to participate in (up to 33% discount). (Example) For two adults, the usual price of 15,000 yen is 11,000 yen, a 4,000 yen discount. For two adults and two elementary school students, the usual price of 22,000 yen is 17,000 yen, a 5,000 yen discount. *Please show your identification on the day of the event, or live in Hokkaido. If you live outside of Hokkaido but attend a school or company in Hokkaido, we will apply if you have proof of identity. Even if you are a customer who is canoeing for the first time, you can go down the river right away on the Mimi River. It is a wonderful field that is hard to find even in Japan. The guide will ride in a separate canoe from the guests, and the guests will be the only ones who will be steering the canoe, leisurely descending through the wetlands where there are many waterfowl. During the tour, the guide will tell you about the history of the Mimi River and the Ainu, as well as stories unique to this area, and you will be able to experience canoeing while learning as well as canoeing. "The tour was fun, but I don't have any photos!!" "I came all the way here, but I don't have any photos!!" During the tour, we will give away photos taken with a single-lens reflex camera to those who request them for free. [Recommended] ① The river flows slowly, and even at its deepest, it is only about waist-deep for adults, so it is a very shallow river, so it is safe for children. ② There are surprisingly few travel photos!! Tour photos of you on a canoe will be a lifelong memory! This service is only available at Gateway Tours! We also have staff who hold childcare qualifications. *You can rent one or two canoes and everyone can ride together without worrying about other customers. *Families with large numbers of people or especially large parents or children may be asked to board two boats.

The weather was not the greatest but our driver (yumi) was fantastic. She took us to all the sites we requested. She told us so much along the way, by using her Japanese/English translation device. She was extremely helpful with suggestions and guidance. She also provided pictures of what we 'would' have seen, since it was very overcast and foggy on our day. She took many pictures for us as well. We almost decided not to go because of the weather but we are VERY GLAD that we did!

"Ninguru Terrace" in Furano is a forest craft experience workshop based on a character from the novel by Japanese author So Kuramoto (to be precise, a 15cm tall elf who lives in a big forest). The small wooden houses here are small shops selling unique handmade items such as glass crafts, paper crafts, hand-painted paintings, and crafts made from dried lavender from Furano. Every shop is small and exquisite, and every product is sold only here and is one of a kind. The lights lit up at night are very romantic. Furano Wine Research Institute - "Furano Wine" made with locally grown grapes (sold only on days Fairy Terrace is closed) Half a century ago, in the 1960s, there were no grape vines in Furano, except for wild grapes that grew in the mountains. With a climate and terroir similar to Europe, Furano has a strong passion for winemaking, and the Furano City Grape and Fruit Research Institute was established to specialize in growing grapes for wine. More than 50 years have passed since its founding. During this time, many passionate people have participated in experimental research and product development, and today's popular Furano Wine was born. While there are wineries that use imported grapes, Furano Wine adheres to its founding spirit of "stimulating local agriculture through the wine business" and continues to make wine using locally grown grapes in Furano. In 1990 I moved to Kutchan from the foot of Mt. Yotei from Kyoto. While my father, older brother, older sister convey the tradition of Keiyaki called pottery, I feel the new winds of Hokkaido every day while dressing. Because I use my former schoolhouse as an atelier and gallery experience field, it is unrelated to new and useful things, In the garden sheep are eating grass, I think that you can have a calm time in a nostalgic place somewhere nostalgic. Since we also exhibit and sell reliefs and everyday instruments, including objects, please do not miss seeing pottery and relaxing holidays.

I will also introduce the wool felt processing experience at such a pottery studio. Because I use my former schoolhouse as an atelier and gallery experience field, it is unrelated to new and useful things, In the garden sheep are eating grass, I think that you can have a calm time in a nostalgic place somewhere nostalgic. We will also exhibit and sell reliefs and everyday instruments, including objects, so please be sure to visit wool felt and leisurely holidays.

This course takes you all around the Kushiro Marsh, the 28th national park established and the largest naturally rich low-lying marsh in Japan with the largest horizontal extent. View the Kushiro Marsh from the eastern (western) observation deck, then walk along an unpaved road to the western (eastern) observation deck. If you are confident in your time and stamina, there are also some places you can walk (or climb?) to see, such as the Kottaro Marsh Observation Deck, Sarubo Observation Deck, and Yumegaoka Observation Deck. Along the way, you might encounter red-crowned cranes, Ezo deer, or Ezo red foxes (which appear irregularly).

From Hosooka Observatory (east side), you can see the Kushiro Marsh and the meandering Kushiro River in the Kushiro Marsh, the 28th national park and the largest naturally rich low-lying marsh in Japan with a horizontal spread. The view from Hosooka Observatory, also known as the "Great View," is spectacular, and on a clear day you can see the Akan Mountains. Watching the sunset from Hosooka Observatory has also become popular recently. The untouched Hosooka Observatory is an observation deck that cannot be reached by large tourist buses. There is also a course that combines the Norokko train ride, where you can ride one way through the marsh from Kushiro city to Hosooka Observatory to Kushiro city, and then take a taxi back to see the Kushiro Marsh from a different angle.

This trekking tour covers all of the Shiretoko Five Lakes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a special protected area of Shiretoko National Park, including the elevated boardwalk. This is the first groundbreaking forest adventure experience in Japan, where licensed guides guide you through areas where brown bears live. You can observe not only the lakes, but also the seasonal changes in nature, such as Ezo deer, Ezo red foxes, wild birds, alpine plants, and autumn leaves. Since the animals are not fed, all the creatures you encounter are real wild animals. We may be able to accommodate times that are not listed in the selection column, so please contact us. The walking trail may be closed due to the appearance of brown bears, snowfall, storms, etc. If we know of a closure in advance, we will contact you on your mobile device and offer you the option to cancel (free of charge) or an alternative course (same price), or a different date and time, if you wish. If the trail is closed after you meet at the site, we will offer you an alternative course (same price) that is available for the remaining time.
